Cheap flights in the US

What are the best sites for booking cheap flights inside the US? More particularly Columbus, OH <-> NYC and / or Columbus, OH <-> Washington, DC.

I've checked out cheapflights.com and lowestfare.com, but are there any others known for cheap tickets? Any other particular tips (as in booking time, etc.)?

I'll be in OH with some colleagues for a few weeks in November, and we'd like to check out either of these cities. Domestic flights seem like a nice alternative for car rental for these distances.

Thanks in advance!

. there was another really good one (that i think maybe kid nyce posted a while back?) that searches all the sites for you... but i can't remember it now.

remember when you find a low price on one of those sites, to check the airline's site for the same flight because sometimes it'll be cheaper if you actually buy straight from them. no service fees.

southwest doesn't really cover ohio at least I know it didn't bu maybe things have changed ...

but the whole thread in itself is pointless!

All these websites are pretty much the same in a sense ... and just doing one search isn't going to get you the best deal!

Buying plane tickets takes some advanced planning with various open dates and looking at the tickets on different dates!
Prices fluctuate on a daily basis!!!!!

Just to give you an example ... my parents got plane tickets from France to Cleveland Ohio round trip for 380$ around the christmas peak season ... the price at first was 600 and it kept going up and down up and down till the price was right.

When you find a good deal don't wait it out but also don't buy the first tickets you find either!
