Hi Guys,
I just wanted to say thankyou to any TA that has spoken to me about DJ'ing and in some way influenced me. I have been given some of the best advice i could ask for from some of you guys and its all paying off.
Not even 3 months ago did i own a set of decks or mixer, or let alone even attempted to spin rekkids. If i even think back to the very start of this year, DJ'ing wouldnt have even crossed my mind, i just loved the music but never pictured being behind it all.
Going out to events run by some of the people on here inspired me to go out and give it a try. On the 2nd of september this year i got my decks and mixer and equipment from DMC, thankyou to the lovely Virginia for hookin me up :p . It was a totally new world to me so i didnt really know wtf is was doing, just jumped in and gave it a bash.
Little under 2 months later, last night i played my 2nd set out in public, only in a small bar, but to a crowd of about 80 people. My set went for 5 hours! and had elements of melodic, uplifting, electro/trance, tech trance and even some psy towards the end. My god 5 hours is a long time to play for but i loved every minute of it. It was great fun (except for when one of the channels on the Bars amp popped and it went quite for about a minute, ghey) and just watching people dance around to the music and yell and scream is awesome. One lesson i learnt is that having randoms come up in ya face while mixing can get frustrating, so im sorry to whomever ive done that to in the past  ;)
So once again thankyou to all that have helped me, even just given me advice about what equipment to buy and such, it all helped. Thankyou Mike Nichol, Jason H, Ben Evans, Scotty Bateman, SoupZOR, JulesPL, Virginia and everyone else. I owe u guys, i went from noob, to a noob that spun rekkids for 5 hours and played a set that blew bitches bras off :whip:
:eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop:     :D |
