| Ok, I am getting a group of friends together for WMC next March and I figured this would be the best place to ask questions. What are some must's and must not's of making the trek? Are there any listings (maybe not this early) of who is going to be spinning where at the clubs? Is it pretty much party all night and catch sleep in the day time or are there great daytime things to do to. Any tips or info is welcome! Thanks! |

parties go on all day .... the day parties are more fun than the night ones i say.. they are just fun and cool.
list of parties its too early, a tip is buy ur ultra ticket early. ill be 40 bucks instead of 80 at the door. also dont buy a space pass...
i cant think of anything else :D |

| BUY PRE-SALE! Actually buy more then you need then sell them there! I would say buy at least 2 extra! You make some $$$. Also bring LOTS of money. Lots. |

Book your flights and esp. hotel early. We use Expedia.com, but there is also Hotels.com and Orbitz. You want to stay in South Beach, best areas are Ocean Drive and Lincoln Road areas. Hotels are very expensive, they charge at least 2-3 times what they normally do during WMC, so the less expensive rooms go early.
There are lots of free pool parties during the day, shows at night are expensive. I normally just pick one and go to that, otherwise you are paying for extra cabs, club cover charges, and that's not to mention WAITING IN LINE FOREVER. You are normally safe with the big names, or all star line ups.
Oh yeah, and Orbital32 is right. If you know what shows you want to go to, buy presales, it saves tons of time waiting in line and the tickets will be way cheaper than at the door.
Must go sleep now, just home from Sander at Giant. |

| Thanks for the tips so far. Starting to look at hotel rooms and looks like the Ramada on Collins will be a front runner. You mentioned Lincoln Rd and Ocean Ave, i tried mapquesting them to get an idea of where you are talking about but ended up with some seemingly random locations, any have some cross streets or a hotel name where some of the central attractions are so I can get an idea of how far of a taxi ride etc... it would be? |

I would suggest staying on Ocean or Collins in the area of 12th\20th streets..BOOK YOUR HOTEL NOW!! Your best bet is to walk everywhere..its way to insane\expensive to take a taxi...(Unless you go to Space..then thats a $20 cab ride...) on the weekend..the streets where literally a parking lot. NO JOKE!! You are more mobile just walking to the events!!Grab your friends and go!! There is something to do to 24\7! NO JOKE.. Buy presales to the big events you want to go to, get there early. There are always super cool smaller suprise events to go to...that you can just get tickets at the door.. the later you get somewhere the more they charge... Its alittle shady..:whip:
Take lots of money.. and don't use your credit card to buy drinks!! They will literally charge a $5 tip of a $4 dollar water.. You want to take some cash..!! If you need a water..ask for a cup of Ice water!! That way its free..and you can tip a dollar! :)
Mixed drinks are at least $12 bucks... hotel bar it up before you go out!! :tongue2
Hope this helps a little bit... |

You are so wrong. The Space Pass is actually the ONLY way you're guarenteed entry. The first year I went I didn't have a pass and one of my friends did. This was the Space closing with Deep Dish in the main room and a whooollee bunch of people in the terrace. My friend walked right to the front (at about midnight) and walked right in. I, however, was stuck waiting in line for about 45 mins trying to convince the bouncer (and the list girl, actually works for Giant out here in LA :wtf: ) that they should let me and the 12 girls I came with inside lol. It took alot of negotiating but finally they let us in. But we paid $80 a head as opposed to a $120 3-day pass. Get a Space Pass if you plan on going more than once. Also, yeah def buy pre-sales whenever you can. Last year I didn't buy any, this year I bought all my tickets ahead of time, saved at least $10-$20 on each ticket (vs the door) plus you KNOW you're going to get in. |

in 2005, it was a fiasco trying to get in with a Space pass as they let in all general admission people as well as Space pass holders at the same time. hence they had major occupancy issues and many Space pass holders stuck outside.
this year, pretty much no general admission people were let in until after 3am....while presales and Space pass people got in really quick.
i made it into Morillo in maybe 5 minutes on that Sunday nite.
however, earlier that morning at 630am for Yooshi, they were at occupancy and we didn't have passes/presales, so we had to spend several thousand $$$ on a table to get in! |
