It got a mixed reaction. Some people said it was in bad taste, others thought it was hysterical, while a couple seemed like they were pissed off, heh. I got approximately the same reaction last year when I dressed up as a hurricane katrina victim - I took a shower in beat up clothes and walked around with a cup asking for money, a dvd player box and a sign around my neck that read "katrina took my house, can I stay at yours"... shockingly I didn't get any numbers. My alternate costume this year was frozen dead baby (after reading the papers), but it sounded like too much effort to get that costume together and I think I would've offended more people than I was ready to handle.
