Although the night before was great, I needed another dosage of 99 Sudbury. My feet needed another workout!
I wanted to get there earlier this time, so I aimed to be there before 12 am. I was so excited that I made it there by 11:30. I wasn't expecting as much of a turnout as there was for Beyer, but there were literally only 15 people when I got there. The dancefloor was empty so I started moving me feet while against a wall. I felt a bit lonely, but 5 minutes later Jenners showed up! This was part 2 of our lovely drunken sketched out weekend, minus the drunk this time haha. The place filled up really slowly but by 2 am it was filled nicely. Not too crowded and enough room to put on a performance on the floor. Same kind of crowd as the night before, so I don't need to compliment on how awesome they were..but there was one thing I noticed: There were so many beautiful women! The ratio of guys to girls was good too...This was unexpected. 3/4 of the crowd was wearing costumes, none of which were too creative but they all looked great. My ass was grabbed earlier on in the night and as I looked back, 3 hot nurses walked by. For most of the night I tried to figure out which one was the naughty nurse, but I didn't succeed....ah well :p I felt just a bit out of place and regretted not wearing my costume. The reason was because I thought the place was going to be just as dirty as it was the night before. Fortunately, the floor was very clean this time around. Heat was also not an issue this time around...I was actually cold for the first few hours! I was able to enjoy myself completely. There were a few odd hours, but it was a good night. The place closed down at around 7 am, technically 6 am because of the roll back in time.
I think Jamie Kidd went on first, but once again, I didn't pay much attention to his set. It wasn't because I didn't like it; I was distracted and wanted to sit down and chat for a while. My favourite local Kenny Glasgow went on at around 12:00 (1 am). I knew it was going to be good...but it was amazing! Easily the set of the night! Instead of his usual deeper underground progressive style he dropped a full throttle minimalicious set :) Mixing was on par. I felt as if he were playing this set just for me...because he played so many tracks that not only I knew, but loved! "Oh my god!" was coming out of my mouth every 10 minutes. At one point, I started laughing...He played a track I had recently talked about, a track which was played by Loco Dice in March. To this day I cannot ID this track, so I simply gave it my own title..
Unknown Artist - Ripper Farts!!!!!!!!
LOL! I know it's absolutely ridiculous, but I think it's the perfect description of the song. That was just the beginning...as Glasgow followed it up by 2 minimal bombs:
Loco Dice - Carthago
Matt John - The Rising Scope
Just.....wow! Hearing those two tracks back to back was intense! I can't remember the last time I went mental so early in the night. This was why I thought he was playing the set for me....but I can pretend, right? :D Other awesome tracks include:
Thomas Schumacher - Metro Guido Schneider - In Case You Didn't Feel Like Showing Up
<3!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can imagine how wide my smile was! He also dropped another song that I can't ID, but it sounded fluffy...not trance fluffy...but like... WTF fluffy! It had a really high pitched repeated sound sample that made me picture flying pixies dancing in the air. I danced on my tippy toes for this one. lol.
Trentemoller went on earlier than expected...and ended earlier than expected. He came on at around 2 am (1 am) and finished just about an hour later...but I don't think it surpassed an hour. To say that I was disappointed was just the beginning of my ranting. I was not impressed at ALL. Absolutely no crowd interaction...it could have been a doll up there. I don't care if it was a live PA, it was too predictable. He played some productions of his which got the crowd going nuts, including myself. Nothing new was added...I was expecting to hear his new remix of Always Something Better, but instead I wanted to yank my hair out. He played one of the most annoying tracks of the year... You DO NOT play this tune at a party such as this one. I do not need to repeat myself :wtf:.
Fedde Le Grande - Put Your Hands Up For Detroit...
Put those hands down you ******s! lol. It killed my mood for a while...
Other tracks he played:
Trentemoller - Nightwalker
Trentemoller vs. Missy Elliot - Work it Beta Boy
Royksopp - What Else Is There (Trentemoller Remix)
Bodyrox - Yeah Yeah (D Ramirez Remix)
Trentemoller - Vamp
Martinez - Shadowboxing (Trentemoller Remix)
Trentemoller - Killer Kat
Mathias Schaffhauser - Coincidence (Trentemoller remix)
Moby - Go (Trentemoller Remix)
and how could I forget my favourite...one of the most eerie and distorted songs I've heard this year...
We Share Our Mother's Health (Trentemoller Remix)
The set/performance was not as dancefloor friendly as it could have been; I'm not a big fan of his more 'experimental' minimal productions....it sounded more like ambient.
I believe Nitin went on after. At first I was impressed with his mixing, but then it sounded like he was trying way too hard. Take it easy with the layering of songs dude. He managed to drop some tech house with a few minimal tunes...2 of which caught my attention greatly..
Loco Dice - Seeing Through Shadows!!!!!! Paul Woolford - Erotic Discourse!!!!!!
So many of my favourite tunes...all in one night. Merry Christmas Cribby! bwahah.
Jonny White and someone else went on afterwords...not sure who exactly but I wasn't too impressed. I DL sets of Jonny's that I enjoyed, but I just wasn't feeling it on Saturday. None of the songs made me want to get up and dance, but it could have just been my mood. I think Sonic would be a better venue for his sound. The rest of the night was pretty much blah for me...but the last hour was pretty pumping. Not sure who ended it, but he was playing alot of tech house and techno! Although the floor wasn't packed with people, the ones who were still alive were busting out their 6 am moves. This was the most enjoyable part of my night, because I went full out, and even got to experiment with some new moves :) There was one track I totally owned...and I got scared when I heard its arrival...I've only dreamed of hearing this tune live, and it was perfect timing.
D.I.M. - Sysiphos!!!
Tune of the night! It's one of those techno tracks that really hits the spot with its evil progression, and not to mention it's completely unexpectable. When the main part kicks in...absolute insanity!
Jonny White had the honours of closing the night with the last tune, which was very relaxing..
John Tejada - The End Of It All
So day 2 of 99 Sudbury went great. My feet were satisfied and I got my workout for the week. Didn't see too many familiar faces but I got to rock it out with my Magic Jenners, le jon jon et le fille jolie, Gera, Karina, and many non-TAs. And now...I can rest :)

As promised now that I am actually alive and rested..
The sound on my camera is distorted but I have gotten a tip on how to fix that for next time :)
And it is really dark in there, so although it looked ok on the camera it is too dark to actually see the full crowd reaction (so which means I missed dancing to this buildup for something that didn't end up looking as good as it did being there.. lol, ah well)

Hmm...I wanted to look up the first time I mentioned this Ripper Farts track and I thought this was hilarious...from the Loco Dice/Misstress Barbara Review:

I made a list before the event of tunes he would play from his set at the Kinky Club on Feb 12th. They were tunes I named myself because of the soundeffects:
ripper farts
chicken song
knock on wood
magical wolf cry
tribal lalala

Anon: Dude, I was just gonna ask you the same thing...
Me: Haha dude, my stomach is killing me, and there's only one stall in the washroom.
Anon: Hahaha same here.
Me: It's because of the pill I took..
Anon: Me too...this is too funny haha
Me: What a weird coincidence..ahaha
Anon: Ok, let's check upstairs, but if we find one I'm first!
Me: haha ok. This is so going in the quotes thread!
*after unsuccessfully finding one*
Me: So did you find one?
Anon: Nah...I just went upstairs, walked around, and blew a bunch of farts so I feel much better.
Me: Ahahahahahahahahaha! I think I'm just gonna hold it in until it goes away..

I'M SO ING PISSED OFF THAT HE PLAYED THIS BEFORE I SHOWED UP, :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip: :whip:
chikaladka
pfffttt at you chris!
No crowd interaction? Look at the video! he's clapping and jumping at some points, the other points you can clearly see he's busy ing around with his instrument, and thanks god for that! the man only has 2 hands and one brain afterall, and that's about how much it takes to do what he does - hence the 'lack' of interaction with the crowd.. he still tried!
and I haven't heard most of his productions before, maybe that's why this was a new experience to me (seems like you're all disappointed with how old/popular the tracks were)... oh oh oh omg omg i can add an ID for the first time in my life... BETA BOY! now I'm cool to IDing tracks and all :D

LMAO.. when you told me that on the dance floor, I just didn't know what to say.. I think I may have even had that confused look on my face again.. :haha:
somewhat of a better review now:
Thanks to Cribby txt'ing me at 9pm asking me if I were gonna come out. I wasn't tired and I was slightly bored and wanted to do something and this was it. Drunken Sketcherds part deux :p
* Kenny Glasgow FTW!
* complete smiles all night long. I was loving every minute. So much minimal; never thought I would see the day I posted that on a board :p
* jon jon laughing at me cuz I looked like a raver girl :haha:
* Cribby and Kris on the ground begging me not to leave (that will be a cute pic)
* hearing What Else Is There.. I love that remix! So glad it was played before I left.
* saying goodbye and hearing a tune and running back out to the dance floor. Then I really left after that!
2 days in a row was too much fun. I really didn't want to leave in the end, but I would have kicked my own ass if I had missed Preach. (even if I didn't have the best time @ The Docks). It was great to see the familar faces out that I mentioned before too. What a great weekend in the T.O altogether. :)
