i want to make a phat offbeat base line like the one in sean tyas - lift

only problem is as hard as i try it always sounds like some 1992 bouncy hard house gash.

any tips on how to make driving offbeat baselines?

3xosc:

2 first osc, take squares, pulse on the bottom..
filter it heavily, and play with the adsr till u get a nice sound.. compress for punchiness and boost the lower frequencies.. bam!

A little offtopic but can you explain how you do that stab kinda sound that occurs between the 2nd & 3rd beat? Its quite popular in psytrance & i've been trying to get it right without much success..

Heheh that explains why i've heard it in so many tracks ;)

I'd still like to know how to do such a chord stab though in case anyone knows! Sorry for hijacking this thread!
