need help identifying a synth (that ferry corsten uses)

hi,

so i've been listening to ferry corsten a lot recently, and i've noticed there's a particular synth sound he uses a lot to transition from one part to another (in/out of the chorus for example).

i don't really quite know how to describe it, but it almost sounds like a teapot 'screaming' sound. he starts it at a low pitch and it quickly builds to a high pitched wavering peak as the song transitions into the next part.

one song in particular i've noticed he does this with (there's more that i can't remember): 'Fire feat. Simon LeBon'

if any can help me identify that particular synth, or maybe suggest something that would produce a comparable sound, i would really appreciate it.

thanks!

Yeah I know the sound you're talking about. He does use it a lot lately. It almost sounds like a machine winding up then winding down. Not sure how to make it though.

On second though, maybe you could sample a similar high pitched sound and use the break on the TT or CDJ to emulate it.

I think I know what sound you are talking about. It almost sounds liek a car alarm but sped up.

oh i know what you're talking about.
Tony Morello
sample?

Listen to the original mix of "Fire" right before the vocals "oh woman you make me feel..."

It's a windup sound.

This is a sample of what I think he is talking about. Could be wrong though. [[ LINK REMOVED ]]

miamitranceman:

that's exactly what i was referring to, thanks for making a clip (i was too lazy).

anyone have any ideas on what vsti's would be good to use to get a sound like that?

something that lets you send pitch bend really far. like -24 semitones at least.
dj_alfi
yeah its just a pitch bent synth,, not hard to do

sounds to me more like a fm sound so use some fm style synth and then automate the pitch controll.
