no, I was just responding to the video. didn't pay attention to any of the comments. I think I "get it" now, I was lol'ing about an Ali G interview from a little while ago. I just was trying to figure out whether he was like, for real, or joking. Apparently its all in fun, and if thats the case, Im in, its some good sheit.

yea I guess the last person to really give it a shot (and failed miserably) would have been who... Jim Carey??

the difference being that i never found kaufman funny, but i think Borat is. I suspect that this has to do with the fact that SBC actually researched kazakhstan, their customs (albeit he exagerrates most of them), their prejudices and stereotypes and masterfully exploited them for comedy.

Kaufman's Latka Gravas was never nearly as nuanced because I dont think AK actually researched the character, he kept playing the same bumbling immigrant all the time without any depth to the character.

ok I just found out he played the role of the F1 driver in Talladega Nights.. things are making a lot more sense now... LOL.

In a lot of ways, Kaufmans wrestling persona reminds me more of SBC's humor than his Latka Gravas act. Maybe it was just the public nature of it, but it seemed his ability to not only stay in character when dealing with completely chaotic situations, on top of taking complete control of the situation remind me a lot more of how SBC approaches his comedy.
