i wouldn't call myself a programmer, more ERP support for the pubslihing industry (including kidnyce's mcgraw hill company, but not in the US), but since that means being out on site and unable to rely on support from the office, I do a lot of mod's and temporary bug fixes myself.
All you kids with your modern languages, makes me love my simple RPG.

you do ERP for McGraw-Hill?
malek
I don't call myself a programmer but what the heck...

age: 27
experience: 1 year tech support, 1 year webmaster, 2 years network security, 2 years software analyst
Languages: many almost forgotten, my last two jobs involved PLSQL and other Oracle Garbage (designer) and almost no programming with the network security job i had for two years.

My current job which i started just a month ago involves some hardcore mofo c++ with some edup inhouse API that has about 33,000 classes/interfaces (CATIA).

I am still young and don't think have found my ideal title yet... and I'm starting to hate computer science more and more :p

I work for IBS (used to be TMS). We supply the ERP software for MH in Australia, singapore and india. Was in india last year for the install, now it's just on-going support for the region from australia.
India was certainly different, where people cost so little compared to everything else. Made a rather unusual focus in a distribution operation

Notable Projects: Loads of web sites, where to start. And also all the Intranet based stuff for 3M Canada/Japan.

Never really used them much in work but used them before. Main areas would be in HDL (hardware design language) really. So unless you want to map something onto an FPGA or have ALOT of money I'm probebly no use lol.

Age: 23

Experiance: If uni counts (personally dunno if it should) 5-6 years.

Languages: Verilog, C, 68HC12 Assembler, System C, E (hardware verification laguage) emm dunno sure there are others...

Notable pieces of work: I altered the OpenRISC 1200 processor pipeline to use a new type of error check/verfication. Can see the report if you want but it didn't work (the theory I mean my code did... well kinda lol).

Me:
Languages: perl, php
Age: 18
Experience: A few months
Notable pieces of work: N/A :o

Currently messing about with perl ("Only perl can parse Perl"), and trying to step up my regular expression skills. It's a fun language. php sucks, but I have to learn it as well...

I love using IDEs. Also, I just tried out wget yesterday and it is AWESOME. :D

I used to do load of perl programming. I did this project that was for a pub where I had to extract sales data from their till file of a pos (point of sale) machine and then upload it to an online ERP app.. The good times...

Damn maybe I can coerce a company visit out to australia to meet up with you to learna bout the intl erp system. I'm doing the enterprise data warehouse conversion here state-side working with India (TCS/TATA) which is fed from ERP and all of our other systems.

As it is now, the only international work i'm involved in is Ryerson Canada and our UK market. Would LOVE to visit Australia some day...
