surely you agree here?

of course i agree. but surely you agree that ty programs can continue for eons as long as the ratings are high?

Personally, I agree with this. If there's one thing that no free, democratic society should tolerate it's the satirising of those in power. I mean, what would come next? Criticism? Dissent? Oh no, we couldn't have that. Not in Australia.

I only watched it cause of dave huges and corinne because will anderson is a ****, its still poojabbingly gay there axing it but cause its fukin hilarious.
Philby
i watched a few episodes now and again, i didn't think it was that good :p ah well
DJ_Ballistic
it was ok, cant say i watched it much tho

dave hughs is hilarious, will anderson is a tossbag, he seems to think if he raises his voice during a joke, it'll make it funny

I'm surprised that people are weighing up this decision as a" was it good show or bad show " issue. Even if you hated the show, The decision to watch is now out of our hands!! This is so wrong, and how easy is it they can do it now. Just when are we in Australia going to draw a line in the sand as far as our freedoms are concerned. I know this sounds extreme, but when you look at what is happening today I'm amazed that we put up with it, and just a little bit scared.

Somehow this decision doesn't surprise me, and its not because of the ABC's new "editorial guidelines". They seem to axe shows like this after relatively short periods of time ("Backberner", GNW, etc), whilst crap like "Rove Live" persists on the commercial networks way beyond its expiry date.

Besides, Wil Anderson is really, ing annoying.

OI YOU WILL ANDERSON HATER'S ARE JUST JEALOUS OF HIM.......

LALALALALLALALA

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

HE MADE THAT SHOW!

HAHA Rove isnt as good as it used to be but still sometimes funny, Pete Hellier is the funniest!

one of my cousins spent new years eve 1999/2000 sitting at ayres rock, watching the sun rise, and getting absolutely cained with peter hellier - he reckons he came close to death from laughing so much.

as for the glasshouse - i watched it for the first time in a while last night - not bad i guess...not that interested in much on tv these days tho

quineska
Don't get me wrong, I loved the glasshouse. Always regret missing it on a Wednesday/Friday/Saturday night (whenever it was on, ABC kept changing ti).

I think its pretty lame though they said "oh but we're not axing the Chaser" to justify getting rid of the Glasshouse. Anyone actually know the "official" reason (apart from John Howard conspiracy theories)?

They reckon they have some new stuff in the works though (like from the guy that did "We can be heroes")...but that doesn't mean they should axe the glasshouse.

i was tired and cranky when i replied beforehand.

so i dont like the glasshouse anymore.

BUT, if it is true that the ABC censored it, that sucks. To what extent the ABC does bow to political stand points, im not sure. Theoretically it is a independant organisation.

Maybe it got axed on moral grounds? (probably not, but they did touch on some senstive subjects now and then?)
