As an aside, I despise wine. Maybe I just haven't tried anything that suits my tastes. Can someone recommend a great red or white that I will absolutely love.

What is your taste? Sweet? Dry? More fruity?

I was trying to figure out what you do... Judge, cabbie or TTC bus driver would be funny, but those don't involve a cheque.

I dunno...maybe that's the problem. I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I like bitter stuff..like dark chocolate and strong coffees. The only wine type of drink I like is port. I hate when I can taste the strong alcohol with the exception of single malt whisky. I think I'm a lost cause.

You don't like sweet stuff but you like port? That's about sweetest it gets lol

I suggest try a cabernet sauvignon (I'm partial from those from Australia) Currently I'm entertaining a bottle of yellow tail cabernet sauvignon. It's like 10 bucks a bottle at LCBO.

If you like dry, try shiraz.

You're not giving us much to work with though. LOL

For reds: Georges Duboeuf Beaujolais Nouveau
- I love the Villages from a few years ago, but they mostly only bottle the Nouveaus now

For whites: Cavit Pinot Grigio

both inexpensive, great tasting, and not too far sweet or dry.

Hot chocolate with a shot of espresso in it = LOVE.
