Thats sad to hear. Yes some people have an imbalance and are just depresed all the time. I've known a few people to do it.
If you decide to, make sure you tie up your loose ends, protect your loved ones and for sakes, don't take anyone with you. |

have you ever experienced severe depression? for many people it's something they can't control and talking to people is something they're scared to do. Of course it's a sin....but noone knows the reason behind his suicidal actions.

You have a bit different perspective of suicide when you lose someone to one.
Depression, been there.
Yeah it's your life. But unless you're a hermit, there always will be someone who does give a rat's ass about you. And to think how much hurt you're going to do to them... Hence why I think suicide is one of the most selfish acts you can do.
You don't give up. Ever.
Having said that, and considering we do not know all the pertinent information concerning Mark Wilson's case (whether he suffered from depression or other extenuating circumstances), maybe he did have a good reason why to end his life.
Well, I certainly can't think of any. |

yes, but being bitter and gravely hurt bc of losing someone close to u to suicide should not change the fundalment belief one holds that its the person's choice... it only means that u shold ing hate it, but just bc u hate something doesnt mean its wrong (except in this relgious view on the matter, bc i guess if god says its wrong, it is indeed wrong to those that follow god, which is fine for them to follow if that's their belief structure).

Ideally, one would give up never, that would be the perfect, greatest solution, IMO. But it cant always be so nice. Life isnt perfect. Life is just life, what it is. Its not promised to be anything good, bad or neutral.
And I know no matter who you are in life you always have ppl that care about you. But you ing live your life for yourself. Selfish too of those who love you to wanna force you to live when you have no desire to and are miserable beyond a longing live. Your life, your choice.
If you're gonna do it, weigh your depression and lack of desire to live against the hurt you know will affect hose who love you. After you consider all things, figure out if its still what you're gonna do. If its still worth it, then its your life, your call. No one should have the right right to force you to live if you truly wish you didnt. Its not their call to make, it's yours. IMO. |

I never said otherwise. ;)
Consider this though.
At least in most Western cultures, we hold life, and living life a high culture, and moral standard in our lives.
Whenever someone we know has a baby, we go gaga over it and we're happy for them. (Well, most of the times)
We celebrate birthdays of others to mark, and rejoice that particular person is alive, and part of our lives.
In contrast, we say 'I'm sorry to hear that' or 'my condolences' whenever someone passes away.
Valuing life is deeply ingrained into our mind, and when a contrary act, such as suicide occurs, we're like, WTF, considering we spent so much effort and thought into saving, and cultivating lives.
How many times have you heard of stories of ppl risking their lives to have mere chance of saving someone else's life? (And sometimes die trying)
We spent so much money and time trying to save a dying person, even to the point when it is not practical to do so.
There are others in this world live in much more difficult lives doing all they can to survive. (and often fail)
Life is precious.
So, when someone commits suicide, we're shocked, esp. when the reasoning seems so mundane compared to others, such as gf/bf broke up. Or they feel that life sucks and not worth living.
Accepting death so easily just seems like disvaluing living.
If we don't believe life to be sacred and worth living to its fullest, no matter how sucky it is at the moment, then what should we truly value? |

RIP Mark Wilson. My condolences to his family and friends. The music industry may miss him..but some listeners shall never forget him.

you lot had NO IDEA, in fact you probabaly (for sure) never even kenw him as a person. so you have no clue why he did it or what he was going through therefor you can't judge him as a person. Respect him as an artist and nothing else for that is all you can do.
my condolences go out also to his family and friends, I've heard he's a wonderful nice guy from others and have listened to him before, really enjoyed his stuff. sad to see him go.

Granted, how many times do you think you don't hear of publicized suicides? Unless you know the person, or have someone that knows the person, you won't even hear of it as the media is not allowed to produce information on the situation.
Having my father as a forensic scientist, it's not nearly as shocking for something like this to happen. Suicide happens all the time, extremely frequent, especially to 'our' age group during exam seasons.
I don't condone such an act as taking one's life as it is a selfish thing to end your life instead of working through the hard times and coming out on top. But sadly that is not how everyone thinks. We can't speak for everyone, and a generalization such as what was posted above isn't appropriate in a thread noting someone's death.
Save your personal reservations on the suicide debate for outside of an informative or mourning thread. |
