The club was lacking identity, and a lot of people showing up on a saturday night expecting a regular club night, and finding a sea of shirtless men were discouraged. This isn't to say that Saturdays will draw a very mixed crowd, it's just the 'circuit' bookings/parties will now be found on Friday nights exclusively.
Bottom line, Sonic is still a club that is diverse and will draw a very mixed crowd on any given night. Now, people can choose what type of night is right for them, and Saturdays will now feature the same type of feel that it once was at Boa-Redux.... cutting edge, upcoming, raw talent. |

| I'm curious to see how it goes. I hope the regular Saturday night gay patrons continue to feel welcome on the Saturdays even though it appears they are being steered towards attending on Fridays instead. |

I can assure you they will, it's just a matter of musical preference that will determine which of the nights they attend. To me, this is great news for all who attend the club both gay, and straight. It's just more options for everyone. |
