Some of my friends recommended the Smiths, and a few months ago I picked up Hatful of Hollow, but I just didn't bother to give it a decent time to listen to.

However I was listening on the train home one day, and then I said to myself "Oh ...his singing about me!" and the rest they say is history...

my favs:
William, it was really nothing
How Soon is now
Heaven Knows I'm miserable now
This night has opened my eyes
You've got everything now
Hand in Glove
This Charming Man
Bigmouth Strikes Again
There is a light that never goes out

Been addicted to The Smiths for the past months and I don't think it will end.

I now believe other bands just aren't saying enough to us about OUR lives. This is where The Smiths have succeeded. They are definitely up there.

Rufus Wainwright, Nick Dave, Antony, etc. all cover his classics. I just figured Smith fans would love Leonard Cohen.. ? Oops, I think Jeff Buckley covered as well.. anyways, worthwhile DVD!

Give me some sad songs, Jay...

Sweet And Tender Hooligan, London, Rubber Ring and That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore are amazingly amazing. The rest of there stuff is Amazing aswell.

I like the John Peel session versions of the tracks aswell, a bit more roughness and energy to em.
