What is it called when a group of people circulate money for home-buying?

There's a name for this, but I ing forgot..
Like it's a big(ish) group and everyone deposits some set amount of money each week/two weeks/month that goes to one person, and they do this until everyone gets paid. It's a really obscure thing I think.. but I need to know what it's called.
example: Persons 1 - 10 will all put in 100 dollars every two weeks, and that entire 1000 will go to a different person each cycle. |

| Thanks. I remember my mom telling me how she planned on joining one a long time ago with mostly family.. but it didn't really work out. She never knew the proper name, because moms don't know things like that. |
