I hear ya, the afterhours just kill me a bit too much to hit them often so I have to pick and choose my events. The past 6 weeks have taken 10+ years off my life easily, but whateves, you only live once. |

I don't think I've ever seen you at an After except at Aria once (was it for Mauro?). It would be a different story if afters served booze I'm sure :p

You seem to go to all the shows I don't go to. Last 2 afterhours shows I was at were Fanciulli and Dan. |

Wow, Desyn played really hard. I wan't really digging it until 5:30, so I was going to leave. But then, out of nowhere, he started dropping big tunes so I ended up staying for another hour and a half..
Good party, but I had a better time at Sander the night before. |

Desyn was great, but no where near as good as he was in Ottawa! However, Sultan blew me away. Tight mixing all around all night long. Bomb after bomb from Sultan. I wasn't really digging Desyn till he played fireflies! ZOMG, it was worth the trip just for that one track!
It was nice to see alot of new TA's (for me) and of course Taha, old MTLTA ( not too many of us left now!) |

aight so now that im alive and well lol i think i can post the full review. friday night was defenetly a night that goes down in my books. sultan kicks starts the night off with some awsome warm up material really grooven and deep music sets the mood just right while room was filling up at about 1:45 he kick starts the night off with a massive bootleg of the red hot chilli peppers and from there it was all over massive bomb after massive bomb just droping all over the dancefloor crowed and vibe in the entire place was just pumping and loving every minute of his set. WHITE ROOMS INTO LUCKY HEATHER absolutely retarded the crowed went ape when that happened OOOOOFFFF i can still hear it in my head right now.
OH my OH my as for desynnnnnn, came right in no hesitation and ripped it up from the startttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!! techy and hard bannging out the dancefloor and then completely rolled the dance floor over and gave it a little ass kicking especially when he droped that DUB of Proper education woooooaaaaaaa MOnster of tune ....... MONSTERRRRRRRRRRRR :eyes: finally i can play it now. all in all wicked night great to see alot of TA rep out there lets keep em coming like this stereooooOOOO :D |

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm EASILY one of the best nights at Stereo ever for me, thus far.
Yes I'm the one who was saying "I don't enjoy Desyn's choons cuz they're too funky, not enough darkness and pumpingness, too many vocals etc"...so don't even bother quoting me after reading my review to shove it in my face.
My opinion prior to Friday night was based sheerly on about 5 or 6 very recent sets Alex gave to me. Needless to say, they were not a good indication of how Desyn ass-raped the place. Literally.
I got to Stereo around 1:45am with Maher, littleannie (hope you're feeling better :)) and Sultan. They did the soundcheck and all that stuff, and at 1:45am, Sultan started dropping bombsssssssss...and did not stop.
Desyn played a cross between some progressive(yay!)-techy beats...OMG soooooooooo many great fkn banging choons he layed down holy shize! I remember asking Maher pretty constantly, "Do you have this one, do you have this one?" LOL...And I distinctly remember yelling out to Hakim, "I just came in my pants" when Desyn dropped something unreal.
And omgggggggggggggg SULTAN, you, my friend, are incredible. LUCKY HEATHER - FTW!!! Tightest mixing I've seen in a whileeeee. I am so sure you remember me having a face that was saying "What the FAAAAAAAAAAAKKKK?!?!?!?!?!" when you dropped certain tracks. Really dude...I was so impressed. Definitely one of THE best openers I've ever heard at Stereo in my life. Thank you also for the warm hospitality you showed me by having me over at your place beforehand. Much appreciated :) What else? Oh yeah, I LOVE your cat:gsmile:. Hope to see you soon :)
Wooooooooooooow, this night really was amazing, I still can't get over it. What a blow to my ears...NOTHING like I expected...Thanks to the Stereo family for showing me allllllll the love and hospitality they always do ;) Thanks to Maher for, well, EVERYTHING lol...What a gift it was to be able to be in that booth for more than 5 minutes at a time...The video I got at the end is simply awesome of Desyn mixing and Melanie dancing (his girlfriend, who is soooo fkn cool hehe...she was my "crowdpumping" partner the whole night) Thanks to alllllllll my friends who partied it up HARD with me til the end. Taha, soooooooo nice to see you...I saw you going ape with me at certain points. Good timessssssssss, please Stereo, keep it up :)
Oh and for everyone who's interested: Desyn beat Lee...Not sure about Fanciulli, but Sander still owns...All of this is in terms of 2006 Stereo performances, by the way. :)
Oh and Maher, I have your headphones :disbelief :p
Bahhhhhhhhhh I wanna go back hehe!!!
For all who missed it, too faking bad nanananapoopoo!!! |
