May have gotten a lot of wear and tear, but who knows really. Are you able to check it out in person or is this an online thing? Sometimes you just get lucky and people REALLY need to get rid of something because they are moving or just need the quick cash. I mean, as long as everything is functioning properly and seems that it will function for a good while, then you really can't go wrong. Buying this kind of equipment is always a risk because you have absolutely no idea how it was treated before you got it.
But all in all, sounds like a bangin' deal. Good luck! :) |

Thanks Boomdot,
It is local so I am able to look at it. Should I just plug a diskman into every imput and turn the eq's and faders for each? I will mess with the effects and make sure they work too.
Any other tips?
Thanks doods. |

| Used pio anything seems to either be in GREAT condition or absolute . On the techs id say go for it- on the mixer, i'd ask lots (maybe you have already) of questions about wear and tear. |

most common issue i've heard of on the 3000 is the line faders needing to be reseated. Just a case of taking off the faceplate and wiggling a bit, but it's kind of hard to do that if line faders aren't working in a demo.
test every channel plus fx if you can, also the cross fader. If you only have one input with you (eg mp3 player) put it in and close the x-fader, see if you can still hear it.
also check headphone jack is still getting a solid connection |

I own a DJM3000 and the most common problem I've seen on this mixer is this...
When playing the MASTER VOLUME will only output on the left or right channel. On other words, look at the master meter and if you see only the LEFT or the RIGHT lit up, then you know it's defective. That's an easy fix by just tapping the mixer. |

I will print this out before I go over and check it. :p

Here is the responce I got...
HEY DAN...THE MIXER IS ABOUT 5 OR 6 YEARS OLD...IT WAS PURCHASED FOR HOME USE...EVEN THOUGH IT HAS HARDLY BEEN USED...IT BELONGED TO MY TWO YEAR OLD TWINS FATHER ORIGINALLY...I HAVE BEEN GIVEN MOST OF HIS DJ EQUIPMENT TO SELL WHEN NEEDED TO TAKE CARE OF MY BOYS...THIS IS WHAT IS LEFT...YES, EVERYTHING IS FULLY FUNCTIONAL...THANKS FOR THE RESPONSE...HOPEFULLY I'LL HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN SOON
Sounds legit but its easy to lie in an email.
Either way I'm going to check it out either this week or next. If everything checks out, I'll make her an offer.
I'd buy the techs @ 400 for both but I have no intent on spinning vinyl. Could I resell them on eBay or something and make any $$$? |

I always check out the prices on ebay to see how much they sell for. These days, used turntables do not sell for much. Especially if the dust cover, 45 adaptor, needles or the original box are missing. Plus, with the insertion fees and final value fee on Ebay, I dont think it would make much profit.. Don't forget paypal fee. If you don't accept paypal, you won't get much bids. :o |

Well guys, I picked it up for $300.
The thing is mint. Everything seems to work perfect. I checked everything you guys said, passed with flying colors.
The girl basically got this mixer for free, she had no idea what it was worth, so I offered her 300.
The first part of my collection is here!!!
Next up, 2x CDJ 200's and some comp software... what to do with my last channel?
Thanks again everyone. |
