I've heard a some of sasha's cd compilations and they sound too.. boring. Like its not even trance, just like.. I dunno.. elevator trance?

But his NYE mix we sweet.

The first or the second hour at Rojan in China?
patticus
both hours. its wicked... very original, a lot of tracks he never played anywhere else but about on par with his 99 EMs
discojoe
breakbeats kinda like drum and bass. Fast beats. Not steady like trance

well... basically d'nb is breaks played at 45. heh.
and 'not steady' i guess he means to say that the kicks aren't four beats a bar, the kick drums are on off-beats...

which makes it more ... funky

well we can talk about that oaki was great at 99 but we live in year 2002 and in this year and in 2001 he really sucked....and this is essential not what he has done. this is my opinion
izzywillynilly
oh, so breaks is short for breakbeats?

yeah but we've been discussing the fact that his sets THIS year have been good, not what he has done in the past 2 years.
And Jan Drivers mixes are good as well stiffmaster :p

I've liked most of the newer oakie that's been playing lately. It's different, I'm referring to his Ibiza CD here, but it ain't bad.

And it's just your opinion that he sucked in 2001.

I didn't think he was nearly as good as in 2000, and definitely not 1999.

But I personnally feel like he had some good sets in 2001, just played a little to mainstream for me.

Just my opinion.
