ESP Woody McBride delivers a massive rework of “Stop” for the Wreckless camp on their third vinyl release. This thunderous dance floor monstrosity takes no prisoners with its stuttering kick drums, sizzling-hot highs and hoover-esque sirens. This one has been sending sonic signals across dance floors all over the states, causing instant head turning and sending crowds into a frenzy! Essential ESP business from Wreckless Recordings!
"Who's the Long Hair" shows ESP’s diversity in production styles. A bit slower and more minimal than “STOP”, yet working a different angle by creating a totally deep technotic groove, complete with gyrating pads pulsing in time with punchy and sometimes tribal sounding drum patterns.
Flip over the 12” for two tracks from label boss Lunatik under the alias of Department of Motor Vehicles. “STOP” is an interplanetary acid work out, the TB303s form an acidic call and response along side a groovy synth line, filtered drum work and thumping bass drums. Stop is one thing this track does not do, it keeps the floors moving!
DMV returns for round two with the minimal techno-based, “Egocide”, featuring the vocal stylings of JOTJ chanting the title lyric sure to get stuck in your head while the detuned melody line and the dual 8-bit Sidstations battle for aural supremacy. Another great track closing out yet another solid release from Wreckless!
