Windows Vista RTM Announcement - 11AM PST Tomorrow (Nov. 08/06)

According to Mary Jo Foley, the day has finally come: Windows Vista is going gold.
Foley mentions "the public announcement that Windows Vista has been released to manufacturing is going to happen tomorrow, November 8, around 11 a.m. PST, sources close to the company are saying."
Once the RTM has been announced the build should appear on MSDN at the same time according to Microsoft's press release of yesterday.

| I believe there is a major launch party for it on December 5th along with Exchange 2007. Going to a Microsoft Christmas party on December 7th, maybe they might pass out copies and we'll get to try it :) but all I know is you'll need a hell of a system to run it as we test ran it over the summer, and you need a DVD-ROM to install it. |

They are SO not ready yet. From what I can tell with this latest RC2 release anyways. It works, just not all that well when compared to how solid XP is right now.
And if some fakin manufacturers would release the damn 64 bit beta drivers already, my life would be a hell of a lot easier:whip: Cough cough logitech/M-audio
I wouldnt purchase this software untill at least a service pack 1 update months after the OEM release.
But for a free beta, I cant complain too much. Its kinda cool, and I have thourally enjoyed Vista 64 to "play" with these past few months. |

| Yeah, Vista Business will be out soon. The home versions won't be until January 30th-ish. |
