this reminds me of that stupidest things people have told you about trance thread a while back. I get pretty much the same comments when I play trance in my car, and I have this on going struggle with the lacal radio dj's who are calling for an angel the hot new dance song because I emailed it to them and they played it last week. People here don't know about trance. They all hate anything electronic sounding that isn't rap or pop, but are completely oblivious to the fact that they absolutely love trance when its in the background of a movie or commercial. The people around me jsut don't know, and dont like music that they haven't heard before, so I will have a better music collection than them until they figure it out.

I have just got back from lanzarote where i went with my mates. I took my mp3 player with my trance stuff on it, 6gig to be exact. Brilliant mp3 player, but enough about that.

I plyed the riva remix of you guessed it iio - rapture, then played kosheen - catch (way out west remix). I made people who normally listen to stuff like linkin park, and other stuff get into trance, and start singing the lyrics.

I think that most people can find trance boring, but give them something to sing along to and they will love it. So if i try and get my mates into trance i use vocal tracks to start off with, andf the they get into the more pure trance, as they understand, and get the feeling that i get when i listen to trance.

And breath

So basically people need something to get into it, and i think it is vocals. Then they will understand

Hope you understand what i mean, buit i intend on converting many people in the future

We need to rid the world of people who listen to rap and hiphop, They dont realize that rap and hiphop originated from gangs and hoodlums and all they rap about is nothing but the bad things, Nothing ever positive, Anyways, For trance, Trance is always positive, It takes us on a great peaceful journey.

As much as I hate hip hop and rap now, I can't knock it because I used to LIVE of that kinda stuff before I started loving Trance and all genre of electronica. If it wasn't for Trance, I'd be lining up at HMV waiting to get Enimemn's new cd telling you to 'keep it real'

Making that statement is just as bad as people who say crap about trance. Think about it.

I have to disagree with you on that. Early rap and hiphop was made to improve the situation of afro americans. And even though they seemingly rapped about negative sides of community their message was positive. I think they wanted to improve their situation and they told us the world as they lived it. Please listen to "Grandmaster Flash - New York New York". Listen to it even if you don't like rap, just listen to the lyrics. I think they have some really good points.

I think the original rap music was a great turning point for black music. But today it has become too commercial. Rap after 1990 is too commercial for my taste :) :)

Yes I am a tranceaddict, but I'm open minded. ;)

I used to listen to rap durring the 80s but I gotten tired of it in favor of house music at the time, then came techno, and then trance.

Real Music = Classical... nothing else is "real" music. seriously.

Trance IS repetitive. You could argue that so is rap, pop, music but those words have vocals in them. Most of the time (note the word: "most") the vocals trance has in it are several lines repeated over and over. I may be wrong on this but the songs that I have come across, this is usually the case.

You can't say that people that dislike trance are "closeminded"... sure they don't know much about trance, but neither did we when we first started listening to trance. THe difference is that we liked trance so we explored it more. THey don't like trance so they WON'T explore it anymore because they don't like any of it.

that's a pretty ignorant statement right there. Hiphop did NOT derive from gangs and hoodlums! See you're just as "ignorant" as the people that dislike trance.

Peoples: just accept the fact that not everyone will like trance. I mean, not everybody likes rap or classical or rock or pop music. Who cares if they don't like trance? Does that somehow offend you? Think about it.

I listen to trance AND hiphop AND rock. Yes, I DO think trance is repetitive. Yet I'll manage until there is a song that is literally repeating the same melody over and over...

I'm not criticizing anybody that's posted in this thread, but I just want to remind everyone that everybody has different tastes in music and you can't bash the others just because they don't listen to what you like. There are ALWAYS going to be "ignorant" and "close-minded" people. Get over it. Now quit complaining about how not everyone in the world listens to trance and just GO LISTEN TO TRANCE.

I expect flame from this reply because that what most of you will most likely do because I "dissed" trance.

When I say that I listen to trance.. they tell me everything that JAYD said.. they say that they all sound the same, its not music at all.. boring.. too monotone .. and that its druggies music.. I hate when they say that.

"I could do such a track in a few minutes"

I'm listening to Flight 643.. Someone comes.. says "Isn't that this Safri Duo track?" :o

Well who cares as long as the trance generation won't die.. :D
