Hey guys, sorry if this thread is totally unappropriate, but didn't find similiar.

I read that Orkidea has a montly radio show at the YleX channel, I went to that YleX's site to see if I could listen to it on a webradio, but the whole site was in Finnish.. So do any of you have a direct link or something, and when Orkidea's radio show is broadcasted?

Sadly there is no live online stream to listen the show which is called Tiistain tanssi-ilta (Tuesday's Dance Night in English)..it's available only on actual radio "air" here in Finland every Tuesday night from 21:00 to 0:00 (9pm to 12am) our time. Right now it's about 5:30 in the morning and i need sleep LOL.. but we are GMT +2 here i think. Go to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ to confirm.

Orkidea hosts the show every other week and another Finnish DJ, OlliS hosts it every other week. The show has 2 sections. The first half (21:00-22:30) features tracks played by the show host DJ (Orkidea or OlliS) and occasionally some artist/DJ interviews and other specials while the second half (22:30-0:00) features "resident guest" DJs in this order:
- first Tuesday of the month: DJ Erkko (electro and something more obscure)
- second Tuesday of the month: Leena Lehtinen (techno, deep house,..)
- third Tuesday of the month: Leena Lehtinen presents sets by outside guest DJs
- the last Tuesday of the month: DJ Dizzy (drum'n'bass, jungle,..)

HERE you can find the exact dates and also on the left there's the playlists (biisilistat in Finnish) of each DJ and on each DJ's playlist page there's a dropdown menu where you can find the previous playlists.

So as far as i know.. unless you have a radio which recieves Finnish radio waves or know someone here who could record and mp3 the show for you, you won't be able to listen the show but can only check what has been played. Orkidea's radio sets were available for download a few years back but he took them all down for copyright reasons as copyright here in Finland in these things is very damn sucky.

Thanks a lot Grimreaper ;)

Unfortunately I dont have a radio that receives Finnish radio, and I dont know anyone in Finland. Totally sucks that they are so strict with copyrights over there, no wonder there are so few Orkidea sets available on the internet! :(

There are illegal recordings of the show online tho, seek and find :)

Unique2701
Thanks, I found that out already indeed :)

You lucky Finnish people can go to an Orkidea gig every week almost, I'm so jealous :sadgreen:

Same here, but he is a great dj, I like his choice of music. I absolutely adore the album a place called happiness he released in 2005. I adore it :)
Unique2701
bastards :p
I'm planning on a short trip to Helsinki to crash a party next year :D
Will be either a club night if he'll spin more than say, 5 hours or so..
Or Dance Republic. I heard Orkidea had a 12hours gig this year right? So if i'm going for the club night, then I go for a really long gig afcourse.

Sucks tho that it doesn't say on his gig list / agenda of the club (yet) how long he will spin..

Yeah that's a good one but personally i adore his chill album Music Speaks In Thousand Languages much more than the mix CD. I think A Place Called Happiness was overall a bit too predictable with all the Finnish trancers and such. Very good but not a bit surprising choices there. :D I love Eternal Love tho, which he or Marc Mitchell should finally release asap. That 11 1/2 minute beauty has been in a "coming soon" state for about a year now. It's the type of trance i like. Probably even more so because i've been a Marc Mitchell fan ever since the mid 90s.

Eternal Love is the best thing produced under the name of Orkidea recently. Probably mostly thanks to Marc Mithcell though. His remix of Beautiful is even better than original mix.

But I still prefer Taika.
