I'm a noob who cannot find something using search function (spyware issue)

Somehow mysteriously, I've been getting popup adds ever since I installed firefox 2.0.
Ran spybot and adaware.
Still happens.
I know there is a thread with info concerning this stuff, but for the life of me I can't find it.
Help a noob.

+1...had this same problem...find out what hard drive you've got in your computer and do a low level format...then reinstall windows...seems to have worked for me... |

check your registry and see what processes are running, and then once u find ones that dont belong...
search for them to see where they are located, and then kill the process and delete the file.
also, reboot in safemode and then run all your spyware stuff. |
