Terry Riley, Steve Reich, and those guys. I'm loving their stuff lately.
What do you guys think? |

| I hadn't seen any on the early classical-influenced / "avant garde" minimalists, but maybe I didn't look hard enough. |

there's quite a difference between Steve Reich and minimal techno, or whatever, you punk :)

I've counted 2 so far. This one makes 2.
what i dont understand is whats the difference between what some people call minimal and ambient? Steve Reich to me is ambient, for example his track electronic counterpoint is ambient imo. |

| Like a few of those guys, he does lots of different stuff: "minimal classical," minimal electronic, ambient. |

Steve Reich-Brrilliannttttt!!!
I've responded in the other "minimal" thread about the greatness of Steve Reich and all of his great works, music for 18 musicians, tehilim, electric counterpoint etc. etc. etc. so here i'm just gonna give an excellent live performed piece of work:

PERFECT isn't it?IMO a sublime piece of art. Steve Reich is the best minimal composer indeed, leaving Terry Rilley, Philip Glass and John Adams far behind!!!Ofcourse, these guys are also great!!!John Cage was also a pioneer but IMO he never reached the level that Steve Reich reached with his works... |
