progressive differences? (pg. 2)

My definition of prog trance/house is any 4x4 track that ranges from 120-138 bpm that sounds different and more interesting than normal house or trance, so it can have the same structure as normal house or trance but it should have that 'prog' factor. I really good example of prog trance is Andy Moor - Air for Life. A good example of prog house is James Holden - Eternity

Andy Moor prog trance
Vizay
andy has some proggier stuff under his wings but I wouldn't say that Air for Life is one of his proggiest tunes.
It leans towards a progressive structure but it's deffo mostly uplifting.

Andy Moor`s Air For Life.. cant be called progressive.. thats as much "trance" as it gets.

Progressive Music is about making new sounds and unexpected variations and twists in Arrangement, melody, percussions or/and effects. often in progressive house and trance the tempo is put down to 125 - 135 BPM.

People new to the genre will often think its repetetive and boring music. although it is often the tracks with the most depth and interesting sounds. and melodic wise progressive often tends to step away from the usual chord progressions.

Good example of progressive tracks.

Sphongle - Dorset Perception (Sasha Involver Mix)

Interstate - I Find You (Harry Lemon Remix)

Pin Drop - Corporative Entertainment

Mara - Coming Down

Pappa & Gilbey - Ortegia

although i think there is too much stuff out there that is labeled as progressive, which does nothing put steals from other "progressive" tracks. and with enough of those it can as well be labeled as "regressive".

so, to make your own Progressive sound, in my opinion, what you really have to do is make your own ideas

making tracks sound like Marcus Schultz wont make your tracks any progressive. todays Progressive Trance is often nothing put trance, trying to sound cooler than it is.
