Granted, I don’t really want to, or plan on being, a legal secretary for the rest of my life, and I’m really trying to finish school, but boy do I have the coolest ing bosses right now. I couldn’t have asked for a better working environment.
I’ve only been working here since September, and my birthday was last week and they gave me a birthday card with $150 bucks in it and bought me an ice cream cake and made all the other people we share office space with participate in surprising me and singing happy birthday to me. It was so cute. Every Friday they remind me of what a good job I’m doing and how happy they are to have me here.
Not to mention, we have tons of booze left over from a party we had here on Monday, so yesterday at 4:30 after the anal boss (he's still cool, but he's like the mother figure of the firm) went home for the day, me and the other guy poured ourselves a cocktail and started drinking because we were stressed about an client we had just got done dealing with. lol
Drinking cocktails and smoking a cig with your boss at work at 4:00 on a Wednesday afternoon FTW!
AAAAND…
just now, I got my paycheck and I was under the impression I was going to be docked for taking Monday off to spend with my dad, but apparently I misunderstood his talk with me a week ago about my time off and bla bla bla. So I reminded him that he forgot to dock me and he said he was never going to dock me, but “appreciated my honesty” and I was like, "oh ok!"
So then 2 minutes later he calls me in his office and tells me that he is now going to be paying for all of my health insurance (United PPO, which rocks) instead of just half because he really appreciated the fact that I went in there and was honest. So now I don't have to pay for any of my health insurance and my paychecks will be like $100 more a month.
They rock! I can’t wait for xmas bonus time:D

i asked him if i could carry some vacation days over til next year because I'm a huge snowboarding fan, to which he replied, you need to quit working here and move out west and start your own company so I can come work for you and the hell out of here.
he's taking us out for drinks monday at lunch...yea we're drinking monday during work hours and plan on returning to the office to see who can hold their composure after getting hammered. it should be fun... |

+1..the work itself sucks cause it isnt related to what i studied or want to pursue, but my boss is a jamaican lady who is soooo chill...have definitely screwed up here and there (which costs the bank money), but she takes it all in stride, crackin jokes and whatnot...and she gives me a good hour and a half for lunch everyday and lets me off early whenever things are slow, so no complaints..need to pay them bills lol |
