to the people who say NSX's have a dated interior, they arent familiar with porsche. look at the interior of the 993! the physical chassis has been the same from 73-98. the interior was only "updated" because of new manufacturing processes and materials. its very very basic and doesnt have any amenities.

on topic: 993 911 Turbo GT2! although these are significantly more than a current gen TT mostly because they are rare now. hard to find. the cheapest i have ever seen them is 100k for an ok condition. i test drove the 911 cab and its nice but has a super heavy flywheel so throttle response is slow. the turbo prolly has a bit lighter but not by much.

i like both cars but go porsche. the nsx has gone out of production and is being resurrected soon. unless you want to wait for the new nsx go german!

Agreed that the 993's interior is basic, but he's looking at a 2002-2003 911 which is a 996 and is a little more up to date looks wise (not as barren as the 993, more of a daily driver interior - cup holders, option for a Bose sound system and CD changer 2002-on, etc) while the 03-05 NSX interior hasn't changed that much looks wise from the 91 NSX he previously had. My friend has a 993 4S and I had a 2001 Boxster (interior pretty much the same as a 996) so I'm pretty familiar with both.

i just looked at buying a 2002 911 cab....the interior did seem a bit dated to me. the redesign in 2006 has a much improved interior. i couldn't see paying over $50K for a used car with a pretty plain-jane interior like that.

whats the price difference between the two? my brothers friend has a custom turbo nsx pushing roughly 490 WHP

haha your one of the few. most have never put their face up to a 993 let alone driven the 993 and 996.

kimchi: there is a significant price difference but starting power is also significantly different.

Yeah, well I probably won't be seeing any more of them since I now have a mortgage to pay for 27 more years :( I can't see paying so much for a car now when I could just pay off a big chunk of my home loan or use it for a remodeled kitchen or bathroom. My next car will probably be a Civic or something :) Cheaper insurance, depreciation isn't as depressing, cheaper service + parts and good gas mileage!

I am done throwing money away into depreciation.

savings or land always wins. :)

why not get the new Shelby cobra 500?

500 horses and money leftover for massive upgrades?

I seriously think I am by far the poorest person on here.

You people talk about expensive ass cars while I can barely afford what I have. And saying "barely" is being generous!

The thing is, I use to have a 91 NSX, and when it comes to sport cars the reliability of the NSX cant be beat. then again a 02-03 Porsche TT has 415HP and if you pay a little more for the X-50 package you have 450HP

I was just curious if there are any 996 0r 993 TT (Twin Turbo) owners or those who have test driven the car who an give some input

Thank you:cool:

Aren't you the guy that was calling people racist epitaphs in a prior thread last weekend?
