Yes...my new release I've been working on for months...You heard a crappy version of it probably 2 months ago...It was slow and boring....Now it's hype and choppy...Real Hard and gotsa groove to it that's both trippy and erotic....It takes me back to 1994...Definately has a DBX/Josh Wink feel to it...and maybe a little H-Foundation.....
ACiDTONE - Dr.Thompson's Storybook Mix up now...along with the Cheech n Chong Remixes...
Tracks are up for Labels to get ahold of mainly....and for my friends...I haven't had them for download yet...But I will...
All tracks are copyrighted 2006 under Jello@shortbusradio

this is like minimal x2. doesn't really go anywhere. The kick is lacking and theres way too many dead spots. it sounds like ur only done 1/4 of the track.
way to empty for me man sorry.

you are probably right...except it's had more plays than any of the others...200 plays in 1 day....but really I make songs for mixing, I'll work on it...Minimal x2 though....whatever...but thanks for the feedback...most records that go no where like Josh Winks - Hows the Music & DBX's - I'm losing control both go nowhere neither, it's the mix that makes it go somewhere
Mr Rogers
in that case the mix needs some work
im not trying to be rude man, u put ur stuff up to be critisized, whether it be good or bad. I happened to point out what i thought was wrong. No need to get bent outta shape, its only my opinion.

actually I appreciate it....not bent outta shape...I rather enjoy the criticism...I NEED IDEAS~ What should I do to it...I understand how it builds up and then it's over....I need a keyboardist is what I need eh! Anyways thanks man....Did ya like the Cheech n Chong songs?
Mr Rogers
well im not a huge fan of the cowbell, and once the bassline comes in the mix gets pretty muddy. I think its a lot better though. the mixdown still sounds very raw.

Good effort, but a little arrogant to say it's on par with Josh Wink. Let the listeners decide what it reminds them of, don't condescend by telling them.

First of all, I don't like any of the drum samples you've used:
- The kick is just a low tom with no bottom end at all - not danceable.
- The cowbell does not sit right at all in the mix. Bring it down and trim some of the high end.
- The snare/clap is essentially white noise, it's barely distinguishable from the open hat.

The drumloop as a whole is entirely too conventional, and sounds like no more than 4 patterns progressively layered together (kick on downbeats, hat on offbeats, sclare on 3, cowbell just before 3). In minimal music it's especially important to have original drums/rhythmics, and if you flip on a Josh Wink track that's what you'll hear, usually something a little less sparse that changes from time to time, swings, and has some fun filter effects. Josh also uses tonal instruments as rhythmic elements, like a sax, pulsating pads, or acid/electronic/industrial sounds. That doesn't mean you have to do exactly what he does, but the standard boomp-tss-crack just isn't going to cut it for this genre.

There's also no reverb or fx of any kind. Again, those things are even more important in minimal music. I was also expecting to hear at least *some* tonal elements, but there's nothing but the repetitive drumbeat and hard-to-hear repetitive vocals.

I'm sorry dude but Mr. Rogers is right, there's nothing there. And his tracks are pretty minimal by my standards, so if he's telling you it's too minimal, you should listen.

Normally I don't even bother to give a bad review but since you've peppered this post with copyright information, references to how hype and erotic and OMGWTFBBQ awesome it is, and invitations to labels (as if they would be looking for you - good labels get thousands of submissions daily and don't have time to scout around, so if you want to get in with a good label then you have to approach them), you kind of earned it. It sounds like an absolute beginner track, and if you are a beginner then that's okay too, but then you've gotta then eat some humble pie and allow yourself time to develop skills and style before making bombastic posts like this one. Either that or get ignored/ridiculed.
