PRICEY? no way.

Look at the talent and the venue that will bring you into the new year. 100 bucks is pretty much how much it would cost anyways at any other venue in the city that won't be open as late as Sonic, nor have the talent, nor be open for 2 nights. I mean, I don't have money to throw away or anything. I'm no rich bitch, but come on, 100 bucks for two nights of greatness. I think it's totally worth it. I'm getting my tix ASAP. 40more days and 40more nights to go.

Not to mention, you still have the option of buying seperately if you want to go to just one of the nights. $75 on NYE isn't much considering you will have to pay $60 just to go to a regular venue on Richmond to hear a wedding dj play top 40.

I also think this is pretty pricey. I don't see the justification in charging $60 for the second night.

It's not NYE anymore, so the acceptability of ultra-high prices no longer applies IMO. Also, NYD or not, it's still a weekday party, and I thought weekday parties were supposed to be cheaper than regular nights.

Even with the differences in previous years' line up considered, there is still quite a price jump from the past 2 years (ie the ratio of value to price).

So the wristbands will be available through ticketbreak or do we need to contact someone else for those of us living in the US?

I will look into this for you.....

I am pretty sure it will be arranged for you to order them online, then pick them up directly from the club. Will have an answer shortly.

Sorry, slight mistake on the pricing for NYD. The actual price on NYD is $55.00

You actually purchase a ticket through ticketbreak.com (or any of the ticket outlets) and receive your bracelets at the club when you arrive.

We expected that this was going to be an issue with some people. Fact of the matter is that prices are based on the clubs overhead coupled with capacity.

Comparing this to Decadence is pointless because DJ fees over New Years double, and in some cases triple on nights like NYE. As floorwhore pointed out, any club on Richmond Street will cost somewhere in the range of $60 on NYE, and clubs on King Street West will average around $80. None of those clubs spend money on international talent and they are only open for 6 hours. Try to imagine the cost of security, bar tenders, bar backs, cleaning staff, coat check operators, cashiers, and night managers for an event that takes place over 30+ hours...and just because the second half is on a weekday and takes place on NYD instead of NYE does not mean that we don't have to pay the staff double time. If you think $100 is expensive for two nights you should only try to imagine how much money we are investing into this event to makes sure that our customers have the best possible New Years experience.

Sure, we could have done local DJ's and charged $50 or $60 dollars like the rest of the clubs...but would you all be happy with that? Based on your comment above only noting that their are two DJ's on the NYE line up, you obviously over looked 4 very talented local DJ's. In the end, we are never going to make everyone happy. We only hope that on NYE you will all join us in a celebration which we have all worked very hard to put together and that follows suit to two very successful NYE's at 270 Spadina.

Oops, I never really thought about this. You're totally right. It makes a bit more sense now. Thanks for the clarification.
