Hi all

I want to know the very best of GOA TRANCE in 2006. Can anyone list the song?

thanks.

Goa trance as a genre died several years ago. There are few producers who still release goa albums once in a while.
Such as Filteria and Ypsilon 5. But in general the goa trance is dead.

But some of the old producers have recently released Best of-albums which should be interesting.

such as: Asia 2001 , Planet B.E.N. , X-Dream , Man With No Name ,
Cosmosis , Juno Reactor
.... and most interestly. Transwave is also about to release a Best of album soon with some earlier never released tracks.

i wish someone had the guts to resurrect goa trance.
can't understand why the genre "died out" anwyay..?

Don't forget the new Pleiadians album, although fat chance it's going to be anywhere near the quality of their classic albums, only 2 of the original 4 members are left, not much good music from them since (same goes for Etnica)

Also Khetzal's album from last year is very good, next to the abovementioned Filteria and Ypsilon 5 :)

Keep an eye on Suntrip Records, they're a fantastic label, their sound is probably the closest to the old goa trance (their upcoming release 'Twist Dreams' should be good).

If I remember correctly there will also be a new album by Ra (of 'In Sirius' fame, on Suntrip I think).

I've heard some parts returning in psy songs, mainly the intricacy of some melodies, but there is a big need for something that has the quality of goa in this day & age.

the fault was mainly caused by the labels themselves. during the mid 90s goa trance was really hyped. big DJs sich as Oakenfold spun goa trance and this resulted in hundreds of labels just spitting out a huuuge amount of compilations and CDs. This led to an inflation and resulted in many labels quitting such as Matsuri, Flying Rhino, Return To The Source, Substance etc. Few of the big ones survived such as Dragonfly, TIP, Phonokol but these are mainly releasing full on trance (which is the new buzz since a few years).

There is no difference between GOA and PSY...

In my opinion.

Next time you go to Goa, let me know.

None of this language was created in Goa.

There really isn't , unless you want to get REALLY technical but we'll let RebeL9 post a long paragraph explaing his argument. :p

It has nothing to do with technicalities. You go to Goa, they don't call it Goa Trance or Psy Trance.

They just call it trance.

Morning, Dark, Sunset, Twilight etc.

it would be nice to be able to call it just 'trance' here on TA too ('cause that's exactly what it is..), but when you mention the word 'trance', most TAs seem to think you're talking about the records spun by Armin van Buuren, Tiesto and Menno de Jong and nothing else.
