I had my ACL completely torn and was walking around without one for 5 years, waiting until my knees stopped growing so I could get an operation.

My operation then proceeded to have complications (internal bleeding, etc., my leg was purple).

In addition, I'm halfway and a bit to becoming a 40 yr old virgin.

And here we have some dude bitching about his apparently gone-ok operation and "sex might be a bit difficult".

grrrrrr.

Yikes! I had mine partially torn when I was quite young and was told I'd have to wait until I stopped growing as well. I still have not had it repaired and I have boom-boom all the time.

DON'T LET THE ACL HOLD YOU BACK MAN! LIVE! LOVE! LIVE!

Use this, I just invented it. I call it the homocycle:

It's a long tube, that you stick your dick in with a dildo on the other end. By ing the 'fleshlight' part, you force the dildo further into your ass. You simultaneously and get ed.. it's the future of ing yourself.

Just had an Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction on my right knee which means no football (soccer) for fukin 9 months!

while thats bad enough, ive also come to the conclusion that intercourse will also be an issue... (thats sex for you chavs)

so how do i do it without hurting the knee - positional advice merci!

Man!

I'm in kind of the same boat.

I tore my about 1.5 years ago, but it was "mild"... meaning I could still walk around, just can't play sports which require quick turning etc.

And sport is SUCH a big part of my life... it's devastating... I really, really regret that day. Honestly I do.

And yeah, I've thought about sex as well... there's so many positions I can't do atm... I can't be aggressive for fear of my knee collapsing... and you some of you might not understand... the pain is absolutely excruciating... it takes your wood down STRAIGHT AWAY.

Does yours never collapse though?

I mean w/ mine I've had it just twist out of place when I run down my stairs... I couldn't breathe for about 10 seconds because of the pain! That's why I'm DEFINATELY getting an operation... in' public system I have to wait 5 more months... might just pay for private...

It's weird as well coz I'm in holidays now... so now is the best time to get it considering the 2 month recovery period which I won't be able to actually have until next year, and in the middle of my placements in hospitals...

*sigh*

The funny thing with mine is, they didn't know it was even a ligament injury for like 2 years, let alone a complete ACL tear. I would actually still play soccer, and every now and then BAM, I'd have huge pain (excruciating like you say). To think I was playing soccer like that, with my tibia basically slipping out of place. Miracle I didn't FUBAR my knee significantly further.

The only problems I have with my knee are PAIN due to tendinitis and meniscus damage. Stability has never been an issue, which is amazing as I have a 60% tear of the rear portion ligament. I've always done a very good job of keeping my legs strong and I think this has alot to do with me being able to remain athletically active at a high level. My damaged leg is a bit longer than my good one though, so I can tell that the joint has stretched a bit. It gives me a minor limp, which of course I just play off that I'm gangsta. lol, it's been almost 20 years since I injured the ACL.

Man get that fixed if you can. The main reason they even do ACL reconstructions is to prevent arthritis of the knee later on.

Yeah... similar experience with me also.

I mean after my experience, after about 30 mins or so, I was able to walk around... so in that sense I told myself that it wasn't a 'serious' injury (perhaps even out of fear).

Moreso, we didn't see a Doctor for maybe 2 months, just because of that same rationalisation, and also because of my parents, who were scared so much for me and the possibility of surgery... they basically hoped it would regrow, restrengthen w/ time (and through meditation)...

Its' really sad, vulnerable if you can feel that emotion...

Anyway, the first Doctor diagnosed it being a meniscal tear... and did some scans (XRAY, CAT) that revealed nothin' to do with ACL's because tehy're not sensitive enough to pick up that stuff... so obviously it 'confirmed' his diagnosis.

But I knew enough, through my course at Uni, that it was more severe... so after more procrstination we went to see a specialist... and waited for their appointment, and waited for an appointment w/ a MRI... and waited and waited... until yeah proper diagnosis.

It's really in' poor how long you have to wait for medical attention... really. I've fallen over so many times since... I just hope I haven't made it worse...
