I know sony bought the rights to some of sonic foundry's software (a while ago) but I was wondering if the prices of software has gone up as a result. They seem more expensive (eg Acid, Soundforge) (albeit slightly).

Thanks.

Sony vs Sonic Foundry?

you mean:

Sonic Foundry = SONY

It's the same software. More features. Same programmers. No difference.

I know it's the same software but has the price gone up since Sony bought it.

And either way you always pay through the nose for high end pro-audio apps.

I don't know what he's bitchn about. And to be honest. I haven't noticed a price increase, because I've never bought a copy. I get all my copies from my teacher who gets corporate DVDs from Sony.

I've been using Acid for quite a while now. I do agree that the price has gone up a little bit since Sony took over but then again, newer versions, newer features... It's all part of the marketing game.

Thanks. Do you know how much it has gone up by?

Hmmm.. I'd say about a $100 or so. Again, this is an estimate.
