Thought I'd post an update from Brazil here, since the Latin American seciton on TA is lacking. (By the way, the best source for info on events is orkut or Baladaplanet ).

Been about a month that I am here, so I'll keep it short. I've been asked to DJ twice so far here, which has been phone. One a private party, and another an event at the university campus.

A couple weeks ago, Fred Baker played at a place called Cabaret http://www.cabdisco.com.br. But since it was a Thursday and he wouldn't spin til 4am, and I had to work the next day, I had to skip it. That makes me not a true clubber in SP I guess!

This past Friday, Eric Morillo opened up the new Pacha in Brazil http://www.pachasp.com.br, which is supposed to be expanded eventually to 10,000 people. We didn't go, because it was $100 at the door for guys on the innaugraul night. I like Morillo for some fun house, but I couldn't justify it, he's not one of my favorites and I'm on a Brazilian salary...but we will go there eventually (Sander K is playing in a couple weeks by the way.)

Next week Sirena has its 13 year anniversary with Underworld, Hernan Cattaneo, and Layo and Bushwaka.

In December, Armin Van Buuren will be out here for a night in Rio, and then a night at Sirena (http://www.sirena.com.br). Sirena is a legendary club, one of the first of its kind, right near the beach on the coast of Sao Paulo State (aka Litoral Norte). Going to try to make it out to this one if we can find a place to stay...

You might be interested to check out an article in DJMag about the south of Brazil (Floripa, SC)...which they termed as the new Ibiza in the summer here (basically Xmas to Carnaval).

That's all for now...if anyone's interested (perhaps you are planning a trip here), I can update this thread or my blog (in my sig below).
