I have been asked by the dentist to floss more, just because . . . .. (long story). |
Did the dentist pull a dead cat out from between your teeth?
Then , yes, floss twice a day. |

That's excessive. Once will suffice. Anymore can result in scarring of your gums.
Optimal is a light brushing of teeth in the morning (not abrasive, but just to get some fluorine on your teeth), preferably after breakfast so you can actually enjoy the taste of breakfast. Then floss at night and a regular brush.
This is just my advice though. I'm no dentist. |
lol..."scarring of your gums..." please explain.
and i am a dentist! throw the nasty rumor out the window....
i do everyday before bed... |

| I'm a dentist too. Not brushing your teeth builds up your body's immune system and ability to fight plaque. |

I floss once a day, usually after supper.
Wheather that be not enough or not, I don't care! |

My gums sometimes bleed when I floss. This implies scarring or otherwise wounding of the gums, right?
So, flossing more often just increases the chances of wounding your gums more.
Besides, I really can't be arsed to floss more than once a day, unless I just ate a steak or something. |

| When I was younger, I used to never floss because it would make my gums bleed and it would make them swell up, and I hated that, so I never flossed. But I knew that this was a problem because I wasn't flossing. It was a visious circle. So, one day in like 8th grade, I started flossing and my gums became healthy. Now, I usually floss like 3-4 times a week. |

btw when I say "sometimes bleed", I mean like, twice a year. By scarring, I guess just increasing the chances of a random freak wounding of the gums occurring due to a particularly blade-like string of floss.
I dunno, like I said, I'm not a dentist. :toothless :toothless :toothless |

fortunately, bleeding of your gums doesn't imply any type of scarring.
bleeding gums means either
1. gingivitis
2. periodontal disease (gingivitis to the next level if you will)
floss and use listerine or crest pro health--no more bleeding
get your 6 month check up...make sure you have a perio. chart completed, you'll be good |

Like the polishing part, with the spinning gizmo thing, they barely do. That part literally takes them 1 minute. I remember it taking longer when I was a kid.
Does my dentist suck? |

| I floss with Reach Floss sticks every other day. I don't really think it makes a difference if I do it everyday or every other day. I brush two or three times a day, so my teeth are pretty healthy. |

Disgusting. what did your wire smell like? :wtf:
but really, just smell the floss, even if it appears clean... multiply that horrid stink times the amount of gaps between each tooth, times the amount of years you didn't floss, or months, weeks, days, etc. You get my drift?!
Don't even get me started on tongue scraping! |
