Josh was kind enough to answer a few questions, enjoy:

Josh Wink has always run ahead of the pack, as a DJ, label owner, producer, remixer, and artist. With a career that boasts numerous magazine covers, chart topping singles, sold out DJ gigs and collaborations with such A-List artists as Radiohead and Trent Reznor, Philly-bred Josh Wink has grown into one of the world’s most revered and respected electronic music artists. With the release of Profound Sounds Vol 3. via a newly inked deal with Thrive Records (Paul Oakenfold, Deep Dish, Roni Size) Wink continues to forge ahead…

1) 2006 is almost over, what were some of the highlights?
WMC 10th Annual Ovum party at Glass Nightclub in Miami! Sick! Loco Dice, Steve Bug, David Duriez, David Alvarado, Nick & Danny Chatelain? Limited edition Paul Frank/Ovum T-shirts. How can you not have a great night! Watch out for next year!

Release of the long awaited Profound Sounds Vol. 3!

Carl Cox joining me at my Last Wednesday party at Fluid Nightclub in Philly. The place was absolutely electric. We tagged for the last 30 minutes or so and it was amazing. I should mention that Fluid holds about 2-250 people!

2) How does Profound Sounds Volume 3 stack up against your past compilations?
Pushing my boundaries further! A double CD with two shades of Josh Wink. A natural progression from each compilation to the next?

3) How would you currently define your sound?
As both an artist and DJ, I like to blur the lines between house and techno/tech house. A UK journalist once said Josh Wink makes music that both house and techno heads appreciate?

4) With the advent of Ableton and laptop Djing, how do you see a DJ evolving?
More tools more fun things to progress into the future with. I used to use Final Scratch, when it was 1st introduced. I now buy and get vinyl. But, I play mainly CDs, after I encode them into a digital realm.

5) You've played a wide range of gigs in NYC the past couple of years...Co-headlining with Sasha @ Crobar, Cielo, PS1, Pacha this summer, and now a more intimate night at Love. What’s your impression of New York City’s nightlife? And how does Philly compare to some of the country’s other cities?
Philly has always been in the shadow of NYC. But, it?s cool. You can’t compare NYC nightlife to Philly. Philly has always been a challenge. I sometimes feel that people would rather hear me in a big club in NYC, paying $25 entrance fee. Than hearing me play at my monthly Ovum/Fluid Residency (www.fluidnightclub.com) for $5. I really like playing in NYC. Always great gigs, whether it’s in a big club or an intimate venue like Love or Ceilo. I always like the more intimate nights, where I can play longer and people can come up to me

6) Favorite/least favorite thing about touring?
Favorite: Traveling
Least Favorite: Traveling.
HAHA. It’s true though. I love to travel. DJing/producing has always been a passport for me around the world. But, traveling is tough! After 16 years of flights, customs, immigration, delays, cancelled flights, no sleep, jet lag, security, hotels, every weekend. It is really hard! But, the key for me is the balance.

7)When you’re not in the studio or out on the road, how do you like to spend your time?
With girlfriend, friends, in the kitchen, on a mountain, in a bed, with a book, on a bike? That kind of thing.

8)Any artists or bands currently in your iPod we might find a little surprising?
Uh? Just listened to Future Sex/Love Sounds CD.

9) Turning a little more serious?. Brittney and K-Fed are over, will we ever recover?
Who?
