i think im sold on the akgs. which is the better option then the k240s or k240df?
is there a better modelthat akg do? or is the k240 series good
enough?
i wish there was a place near me i culd test themout |

They're the same, the only difference is the impedance. You should always listen for yourself though, if you're at all concerned. |

cool thanx for that the df model is discontinued now anyway
how do the k240s compare to the mdr7506? anyone done a comparison?

Sony is a consumer electronic manufacturer, while AKG makes microphones and headphones almost exclusively.
The AKG k240 phones are made in Austria while Sony phones are made in Japan(?).
I've had some bad experiences with Sony products in the past. I don't really trust them.
I'm pretty confident that the AKG phones are a better buy in the durability/quality point of view. This is just my opinion, you REALLY should listen to them yourself before you buy. |

like ive said theres no possibility of trying them otherwise i wuld and wuld trust my ears. so my only option is asking peoples opinions that mite of tried both models. |

Yeah that's more or less it... for a high-impedance model you'll need an amp of some sort, but you'll end up with much less noise because the impedance ratio between the 'phones themselves and the line/amp output is much higher.
In practice, you probably won't be able to hear the noise anyway, so if you don't have an amp or receiver, you'll want the low-impedance model.
K240DF is discontinued but still widely available. |

| We were having a discussionhere about the best headphones and the AKG K240S Studio Headphones were which I'm thinking of getting and digi nut said pretty much the same about the impedance level's and owns a pair of them (DigiNut knows everything I swear :P). |
