Hey!
Well I've recently switched from Cubase to Ableton, the reason being, I haven't finished a lot of songs since I started using Cubase.
I love NI Battery 2 and I want to use it as my "Drum sampler". So I started adding audio-channels and midi-channels to setup Battery the exact same way I have it setup in Cubase and BAM.. I'm back to my Cubase workflow/methods only that I now use another interface.........
I want to test some other ways to "arrange" and "handle" my drums, therefore I would like to know how you guys do it in Ableton Live?
Just share your thoughts!
Cheers!
.. Oh yeah, and If you are having trouble with multiple midi tracks and multiple outputs in Live, just PM me. It took me over an hour to figure it out, and I'd be happy to help! |

hey dude
I use WAV samples from Vengeance mainly for my drums - either that or i rip a kick from another track and work it in soundforge then layer it up with one or maybe 2 more kick drums.
U don;t need battery in ableton at all.
try the smapler in ableton as well - it;s real cool |

I use the kick as an audio track only...much better to me...also depending on the ammount of the other percussions I'll just put them as more tracks...or I will use Impulse... |

I think I do it like most people. Just put my samples in Battery (I use the Vengeance ones as well, great series), and route to an audio channel if I want an effect on a specific instrument. When it's finished, just route the thing to another audiotrack to compress and stuff... Seems to me like the only way if you use Battery :) |

i just use audio tracks, put the samples down in arrangement view and make a 1-2 bar perc loop with all the samples i add. i hardly use session view. |

In the end I just created a "preset" track with a Battery VSTi routed to audiochannels already setup. Later today I'll get my Nord Lead 3 !!! I hope it will be easy to connect to the CPU and to Ableton =)
Cheers! |

I've been working with Ableton for a week and a half and I must say the ease of this program is wonderfull.
I just drop in the samples as wav :) |

Yeah but I don't know if it something that I've setup wrong, but each time I want to browse my samples it takes like 1 sec or something for each sample to play. But if I use Battery, it's really fast. |
