| Anybody going tonight 11/16 around 11 o'clock to Oakenfold? Curious to see what kind of scene it will be, saw him in Boston and it was pretty sick buy my gf and I are still up in the air about going. Let me know if you think it'll be worth going |

| I'm going to check it out. I've never seen Pete Tong. Oakenfold may surprise you some days he's good. |

well you were right about one thing. it was expensive! $30 with reduced admission, $50 GA. and they have the cutest tiniest water bottle i've ever seen, not much bigger than a shot glass.
on a positive note, Oaky rocked it. He was on FIRE! His set was banging from start to finish. Mixing was spot on too. a big bonus was when he threw down a kickass remix of Ascension - someone! WOW! memories :tongue3 |

That is why I still love Oakey. Because when he's ON, he's ON, and he has a tendency to drop really nostalgic tunes from the past.
Only DJs with such a long history and root in this music, have the ammo to bust stuff like that out on a regular basis and at the right moment.
Ascension- Someone, what a great track. (I have 3 or 4 vinyl copies of it myself  )
Oakey was the one who really blew that track up over here in the U.S. so it's always cool when he plays it.
Glad to hear he played a nice set :) |

| First time seeing Pete Tong and he was quite good last night at Ruby Skye. I usually listen to trance so most of it was new to me. Plus my friend and I got a picture with him and signed our It's All Gone Pete Tong DVDs :D |

It's quite possible and I pray for those there that it will be :D, but unfortunately I won't be there to see for myself, as much as I would love to :(.
I will instead be playing with Solarstone @ Spundae, ironically also old school legends in Trance (much more under the radar, but have contributed some of the biggest classics in trance).
My luck when I set up this night, that a few days later I find out Paul is playing at Vanguard the same night. Pissed.
Although I would have to say that 75% of the time the past few years, Paul has not delivered for me, but Solarstone is relentless and has always been on point since Day 1 so I'm definitely not complaining :)
Wish I could be in 2 places at once. I wonder what time Paul plays... maybe I could pull both off since Irene is closing... ?
Anyway, yay for Oakey rocking Vegas!! :D |
