Battery 2 - How to actually play a loop?

I've got all my channels sorted out in Cubase 3SX with Battery 2, I can "activate" (play the sound) all the loaded samples in midi in cubase to battery, but I'm using an actual audio track in cubase instead and assiging channels to each sound in Battery to be able to EQ each sound separaretley/add effects.
BUT I cant find the "play" button in Battery to set off my drum patten (I suppose the equivilant to pressing spacebar in cubase)
I've looked in the manual...How is this done?!
Then I will obviously be able to play the loop and record it to use as a sample in cubase. |

Battery isn't a loop tool, it has no support for looping or internal sequencing, it loads one-shot samples and then you use Cubase to sequence a beat.
so basically, the reason you can't find any "Play" button is because there is none to find... bummer? |

Ahaha ok thanks, glad thats out the way...Not sure how it could be useful as a standalone in that case?
Nevermind, Ill have a play with midi assigning if thats the case... |

It's useful standalone so that you can create drum kits and stuff for when you're not producing. |

Oh right I swear I read it was the best drum machine to use with Cubase.

With Cubase, yes - not as a standalone piece of software. It's like any other plugin.
All you've gotta do to "loop" is sequence a bar or two then duplicate it 50 times, although I can't say I endorse that method of production. |

Read the posts closer lo.
I totally understand the concepts - just new to Battery.
I may use Reason as my drum machine because I know that's suppose to be good when you output to cubase. |
