Woo, first post here at tranceaddict. Here's a mix I did live on vinyl in April 2006, just looking for comments or people around Seattle, WA to spin some good trance with!

Here's the link for the mix:

[[ LINK REMOVED ]]

It works if you "right click and save as." (it's WMA format)

It was done live on vinyl, and it has a few "oops" moments, but I've got lots of fresh tracks since April and I'm much better at mixing now (really! I promise). Here's a tracklist:

1. Estuera: Moon Sugar
2. Mark Otten: Tranquility
3. Solid Globe: Lost Cities
4. Rusch & Murray: The Promise
5. Airwave: Save Me (White Room Remix)
6. Digital Blues: Digital Blues
7. Enmass: Beyond Horizon
8. Aalto: Resolution
9. Re:locate: Waterfall
10: Octagen Vs Arizona: Profound
11: Dumonde: God Music (Flutlicht Remix)
12: Altitude: Altitude (S.H.O.K.K. Remix)

Hope to provide another mix if I ever figure out how to wire my crappy amp to a recording device.

I listened to some of your mix. Good job! I would just try to focus a little more on picking your next tune you are going to play with the one that is playing. You wanna try to figure out what tune will go best with the one that is playing. There was alot of off harmony in your mix. The mixing wasn't all that bad though. You may want to go to the dj booth forum and take a look at some of the threads and posts on Harmonic mixing. I have been looking at it more myself, too. But thats one thing I do when mixing, is I'll spend alot of time going thru my tracks, then putting the ones to the front of the cd binder that I think will fit with what is playing. And alot of the time, a track won't sound right in the headphones with the one that is playing, and I'll eject that track and grab another one. It takes practice, thats all. But otherwise, good job.

Thanks! I have no idea what Harmonic mixing even is, so I'm definitely going to look into that. It must have something to do with the key that each record is in or something? I guess I'll check out the other DJ forums.

Good mix! Glad that I checked it out cuz there was lots of tunes on there that I never heard before. I thought the later part was a little more rough than the beginning but as a whole the mix had some very nice track selection that makes up for the transitions being so so. The transitions weren't entirely that bad either.
thanks for sharing

Despite the fact he maybe off beat slightly... I agree with you. He did a good job, esp for mixin with vinyl! I have heard a couple of these tracks b4, and some are new to me. Good job mixin.

I would love to see a video of you mixin with vinyl... maybe with your next mix?

Keep up the great work

Rich :)

I am really just starting to get into it so i would be the wrong person to ask for advice on harmonic mixing. But yes, it does have to do with keying your tunes. Go to the dj booth forums and thereare a couple threads going right now that cover the subject. And, there are people with way more experiance than me in there, and they will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have.

Rock On,

Thanks for the comments guys! It feels good to hear people who actually like trance saying my mix is alright. I'm going to bust out the guitar and try to find out which key my records are in sometime. When I look back on this mix, I think I needed an extra track between 8 & 9 to smooth that transition, and I kicked track 5 in like 2 beats early, and my friend walked in when I was mixing the last two tracks and was trying to talk to me so I trainwrecked it a little, but your comments are also helpful and make me feel good, heh.

Don't know about the video of me mixing, just hope to record a new mix with fresh tracks somewhere down the road!
