ok, weird question... BUT... can anyone tell me if event monitors come in sealed boxes? (as in heatshrinked plastic covering like clingwrap)

my mate and i put two pairs of event tr6's on order because we didnt want the ones off the shelf that they had left (used). i get the feeling the c*nts are going to try and pull a dodgy!

I got the ASP6 and they are wrapped with nylon i think but not heatshrinked...though I did have nylon attaced with glue (I forgot how that nylon is called) on the front cause it's that weird wood that looks like a mirror and shouldn't be scratched...

My ASP-8's came in a double cardboard box, with the speakers wrapped in thick nylon plastic.

cool, thanks guys ;)

yea, exectly.
only I had some nylon cover "glued" to the front.
they are like a mirror...hehe :P

btw -
damn bro, the 8"? I got the 6 and they are seriously strong!!! the 8" are supposed to be beasts!!
how much Watt or RMS are they?
chuckluis
yeah i got a pair of asp8's they are amazing.

took me a while to get used to the low end as it seems to be a bit untrue but other then that they are real nice.

couldnt tell u about how they were wrapped because i bought them used.
jahnlay
Yea, they kick ass, they're 300Watts RMS per side! I love them, haven't stopped smiling since I got them. Plus both the 8's and the 6's go doen to 35 Hz, +/- 3 dB, which is way more than most speakers.

The low-end is not untrue at all, maybe your room is resonating?
chuckluis
yeah thats probably the reason... my studio room isnt really treated at all.

they are amazing though.

how much RMS are the ASP6's bro? 260Watts RMS?

and - care to explain what resonating means? would love to learn a thing or two if I can.
jahnlay
I don't know what the 6's RMS rating is, maybe check out their website. Resonating means creating a ringing tone at a certain frequency. This happens because frequencies bounce between parallel surfaces, creating a standing wave, which means the wave just bounces between the 2 surfaces repeatedly at the same frequency.

This creates a boom in that frequency range and makes it sound like there is more of that frequency being produced than really is. This can really mess up your mixes. It can be treated by tuning your room properly, adding bass traps to absorb the offending tone.

Thanks mate.

about the the RMS question, where did you read about the RMS? I could never find it, couldnt even find it in their own site.

------EDIT------
say bro, don't want to sound dumb but -
ASP 6 specs:
Low Frequency Driver: Magnetically shielded 6.5" mineral-filled polypropylene cone with neodymium magnet, 1-1/2" diameter high-temperature voice coil, and damped rubber surround
High Frequency Driver: Magnetically shielded 1" diameter ferrofluid-cooled soft dome neodymium radiator
Frequency Response: 40Hz -- 20kHz, 3dB, ref. 500Hz
Amplifier Power: Biamplified, 280 Watts; 200W LF driver/80W HF driver; toroidal transformer

ASP 6 specs:
Amplifier Power:
ASP8 (Active): Biamplified, 280 Watts; 200W LF driver/80W HF driver; torroidal transformer

so -
basicly if it's the same amp then the ASP6's amp gives out 300 RMS aswell?
