hi !
im running a set of Alesis monitors, the problem is that the lower frequency response sounds abit wierd, it sounds abit too bassy. is this something i can adjust somewhere or somehow? ive been reading the manual, checking alesis website but couldn't find any thing about it.
would be great if anyone who uses the same kind of monitors could share their knowledge and experience.
thnx in advance |

Left speaker. I block both ports as it's in the corner
Right speaker. I block one port as it's near the wall
I got this from the manual and it seems to work. Now I don't get bass overload as you mentioned.
Try it out ;) |

Yeah, I know there are some monitors out there which have a switch on the back for the position of your monitors (i.e in the corner, near the wall, etc).
I suppose we all have different setups/rooms/etc..

Thanks for the tip! I should have read the manual. After seeing your studio picture, I've cut up a car spong I had (unused ofcourse) as one of my speakers is in the corner and the other is behind a wall. The next thing would be the insulation stuff on the wall but that's a later date. Thanks again! :)
Just out of interest, what are your mk2's sitting on? Foam? Does that make a big difference? |

yes, you get a lot of vibrations and generally bad stuff from putting your monitors directly on your desk. usually people put them on their own stand or buy accoustic pads etc. but of course, if your room sounds terrible overall i guess it wont make much diff :D |
