Tune of the Year 2006: 2nd Half Nomination Period & Polling
View this Thread in Original format

Hi all,

I wanted to take a moment here to announce the tentative timeline for our 2nd Half of the Year Tune Nomination and 2006 TOTY Polling periods. The 2nd Half Nomination period will run for three weeks, just like the 1st Half thread did. I am leaning towards a 6 December - 27 December time period, which will give us 3 weekends to narrow down our selections. I should be done counting all the nominations within 2 or 3 days and plan to have the initial 4 polls, just like last year, open on 30 or 31 December. There will be three polling periods each lasting 10 days, allowing us to know our 2006 TOTY by 31 Jan/1 Feb. I can't wait to start reading, then listening to your nominations!

Um, the polling hasn't started yet, so why are you all listing tracks right now? As far as I can tell this thread was made merely to state a tentative timeline for when the polling ends/begins.

I must admit this thread is confusing, lol. I was about to post a top 10 myself. :p An opening post should have no more than one sentence in MD, ppl have short attention spans around here.

Sadly, I can't even think of a tune that I feel really deserves the kinds of accolades that coincide with the notion of being considered "track of the year."

what saddens me most, is that i know ppl will put 'Put your hands up for detroit' on the top10

Sykonee
Banco de Gaia - Flow My Dreams, The Android Wept
Flowjob - They Are Not Alone
The Killers - When You Were Young (Jaques Lu Cont's Thin White Duke Mix)
Lab 4 - Perfect Drug
Coldcut - Walk A Mile In My Shoes
Gavin Froome - After The Rain
Thomas Bronzwaer - Shadow World

Well, this is what made me stand up and take notice the most this year, but then I did spend a great deal of that time listening to non-2006 stuff.

I'm willing to bet hardly any of these will make it to the end. (maybe Shadow World, just because more folks know it here)
