Derivative you are right, using out1+2 gives me almost 0 latency.
The problem is solved now. I am very happy with this. The good thing is that the virus vst record every single information coming from the knobs.
So when i need to render i just select usb1+2 and is done, right?
Thanks everybody.
Gio.

i used out1+2 it still give me crazy latency.. and i use usb1+2.. it becomes worst! :sadgreen:
Derivative
If you get crazy high latency it means your ASIO buffer is set really big. Make it smaller.

Virus TI can use multimode without Virus control. Been doing it on my Virus B for years. As always, read the manual or download the PDF manual for the Virus B/Virus C from www.accessmusic.de

It will have instructions on how to use multimode without Virus Control.

We could use it as a Virus D.. but we paid for a Virus TI.

Hello friends, I would like to talk about my experience with virus Ti.
I paid $2300 for it plus 2 years insurance. I am not a hobbist , producing tracks is my job and I was expecting that this synth work without any problem, as every single synth you can buy.
I was expecting NO latency, no noises, no poping... easy. A $2300 synth should work proffesionally. But not this one.
My problems:
Latency is horrible if you are using the USB port. I was surprised with this so i contact the support and this is the first reply:

Hello Gio,
Thank you for your mail. First off I strongly recommend to update to Live version 5.2. Next please let
me know the buffer size setting for the input/output buffer size in the Live preferences. Also please
let me know what the "performance - plugin buffer size" is set to in the Live preferences.

Regarding latency: the Virus TI always will have a higher latency than other PlugIns played through a
software sequencer. This is not a bug but a technical restriction: the midi note(s) need(s) to be send
to the TI from Live, then the sound gets created, gets streamed back to the computer and then the
audio interface' latency setting comes on top of that.
However since version 1.2 we added the "direct monitoring" feature in the TIs PlugIn - the little "d"
button next to the PART number in the PlugIn on the left side. When pushing this button for a PART
you're playing "live", then the audio is send to the analog outs 1 L+R. This will avoid any latency.
If you're still getting latency with the analog outs, then how are the analog outs connected? Are they
just connected to your audio interface? This would explain why you still have a latency. You only will
be able to play the TI completely without latency if you e.g. connect it to a desk and when this desk
is connected to speakers straight away.

With best regards,

This is not the way to fix a problem. The message is clear. Do Not Use The Usb port.
Use the out1+2 so the latency will be void. Almost true... but if you do that the latency is aceptable but the arpeggiators are useless.
So lets say that i dont want to use the usb so i set the synth using Out1+2.
That should fix any problem.(of course if i dont want to use arpeggiators because the small latency makes it useless)
But there is a new problem. Using the main volume at 3/4 (not even at max) there is a loud noise coming from the output. If i change the patch the loud noise is still there but changes too.
Im using 1.2.4, and my studio system has never any problem with noise, latency or any thing.
I tried everything but still not producing. I am fixing problems intead of producing. I need to pay my bills!!
Thanks for reading this and any help or experience will be apreciated.
thanks a lot.
Gio

i dnt have any more latency than any other vst lol.

hi there.
You are very lucky!!!

what's your set up like?
how do you work with it?
what sequencer?
what settings?
what kind of computer?

I am sorry about all this questions but this situation is stressing me out:nervous: :eyespop:
Thanks!
gio.

im not lucky, ur just unlucky. it works fine for most ppl.

settings: maudio asio driver as master asio driver, buffer size at 256.

cubase sx 3

delta1010 soundcard..

and ive never tried an arp cause there gay.. so dont kno there.

Hi,
Did you fix your problem?
Do you hear noise coming from the out1+2?
Gio.
DeZmA
I can't really see what your problem is?
Latency gets compensated by your sequencer (or at least should be) in vst mode during playback.
Latency problems get bypassed using the outputs and a hardware mixer, then you put the direct monitoring on for real time midi recording.

@ Dinz, it's impossible having latency using the analog outs if they are connected to a mixer.

Arps work fine for me, even during export.

DeZma,
Thanks for your reply, I know it sounds crazy, but i do have some latency using Out1+2 connected to a mixer. Is not very noticiable if you dont use the arpeggiators.
I use to click on the Common section and change the output from Usb1+2 to Out1+2. Then i click on the "D" for direct monitoring and latency is there. It doesnt changes a little bit.
Also, very often i can hear poppings and noises, (using it as a midi module !!) and last, a noise coming from the audio outputs. This noise is related to the patch. If i choose any patch and put the volume to the max i can hear a very loud noise coming from the output. Is like a digital sound which changes every time i change the patch, this noise could probably be at a high pich when i change the patch, is like an OSC noise.
I would like to know whats your setup like? what Seq are you using, and how are your buffer settings.
Thanks a lot!
Gio.

dude 98% chance ur ti is fukedd, there was a huge shipment of fuked ones, does urs have the scratch on the left side of the lcd? is it one of the first ones shipped?
DeZmA
I do get occasional poppings and noise but these are very rare and are solved with a simple reboot. Do you have a lot of stuff going through usb? If yes, did you try a seperated usb controller? (These last 2 are only is you get the noise with vst mode using VC)
What I would probably do is going to a fellow producer and try it there, if it's also not working properly there, just use your warranty and trade it for a working virus.

I'm on p4 2.6 with m-audio audiophile at 256 samples.
