From what I recall, tickets are a buck each and the average wine or beer sample is 3 or 4 tickets...more for high end drinks or vintages, of course. Food ranges...and you can usually pay with cash or tickets.
it's a value in the sense that you don't have to buy a bottle to try a wine...or even pay $6-10 per glass in a restaurant...but it's not a "cheap" event, you're right.
If you're a hearty drinker and want a bit of food, I'd expect to spend $40-60 for an evening, including entrance.

That's a good estimate. |

Went last night, hungover as hell right now - closed the night out at McVeighs at Church and Richmond listening to the Irish band...good times.
More food than in previous years, and better IMO. Couldn't find any Australia booths...maybe we were all too drunk. |

LOL
I just drunk dialled John like 3 times. We went this afternoon with Mark's mum (Mark's dad was away) and we spent the whole afternoon with her. A coughing fit had us leaving at 4 before I could spend $70 on a 20 year old bottle of port (probably for the best)
It was AWESOME going during the day. Only caught a tiny bit of the bar star crowd on the way out. The food was much better than last year. |
