"Heroes" (who watches it?) (pg. 18)

I thought this was a bit of a lackluster ending to Volume One also. I think a lot of people were really expecting a massive showdown between Peter and Sylar.

A lot of things bugged me about that episode actually.

  • Since when did Parkman become all brave?
  • How did DL go around with a major bullet wound for so long?
  • Why were there NOBODY on the streets until after the fight when the police/paramedics arrived?
  • How did Nathan swoop in and be part of the actual conversation of what Claire was saying?
  • How did Hiro manage to stab Sylar from like 5 feet away without Sylar stopping him?
  • They didn't make sure Sylar was dead? What the hell is that crap?

... among other things

I still love this show though, but I was pretty disappointed with this finale. Maybe they were crunched for time.

Looking forward to Volume Two though :)

that was showing that sylar quietly crept away into the sewer with NO ONE seeing it. kinda lame imo.

Meh...enjoyed the episode...I thought both sylar and Peter had to die...omnipotent (almost) characters are not interesting to me. How am I supposed to believe something bad can happen to someone who is invisible/telekinetic/regenerates/etc....

It sucked to see Nathan go *why couldn't peter fly himself into space* ...his character had potential for development.

Yeah, obviously I haven't seen the cast-list for the next season but I have a feeling Nathan will be back. I mean, how hard would it be to sky-rocket into the stratosphere with a given velocity, then jet off supersonically (never understood why there weren't sonic booms, as he appears to be moving bloody fast everytime he flies) before Peter blows himself up. I wonder if they're going to have to deal with the radioactivity, or he was actually a nice clean nuke.

As for the rest of it, I think it was overall a sub-par episode, but I'm actually glad that Sylar lived. His whole personality/psychotic tendencies are a pretty interesting part of the show for me. Bit too much melodrama as well in the dialogue, but its not a bad moral for the show to have if it has to have one. Definitely can't wait till Volume 2 though :)

In a recent interview with E! Online Tim Kring said: "There are plans to add one new, one big character next season." He also stated that the "Heroes" that remain are likely to stick around, because he's changed his MO "I thought Heroes was going to have an ever-shifting cast," he says, "but the cast hit in such big ways that now the challenge is to figure out how to use them all and still fold in a couple of new people, because I still think that the origin stories are the most fascinating, in some ways." [5] Masi Oka, who portrays Hiro Nakamura, recently said in an interview with Sci-Fi Wire, “I think it’s great the way the finale ends… It’s a wrapping up of volume one, which is called ‘Genesis.’ And it wraps up the whole bomb storyline. So it’s a nice finale, and there’s a great cliffhanger with everybody, I would say. And you do get to see a little bit of volume two, which is called ‘Generations.’” [6]. Tim Kring also revealed that although he plans to keep most of the "surviving cast" with the addition of a couple of new faces, Season 2 will start off with the heritage and lineage of some of the major heroes families, including the first generation of heroes (Mr. Linderman, the Petrelli Family, and Kaito Nakamura, among others.)[7] This season will have a total of 24 episodes.

Volume Two begins at the conclusion of "How to Stop an Exploding Man". Hiro Nakamura lands in the middle of a seventeenth-century battlefield near Kyoto, Japan. Kensei is about to begin a battle with another family when the event is interrupted by a solar eclipse.

TOTALLY. That was bloody WEAK as hell IMO.

As IF noone really checked to make sure he was dead or shoot a few extra bullets into him *just in case*

C'mon! Its ign Sylar. Jesus.

I wanna say its lame that it took Nathan to fly Peter away... but Im thinking in Peter's panicked state either he couldnt muster the ability to fly himself away, or that he simply cant use two powers at once (have we ever seen him do this??) ...

so, i dont think its fair to complain about how peter didnt fly himself away.
