Well, I have to start off by saying it's definitely unfair to have played this after playing Gears of War. No comparison, the level of immersion in GOW would be difficult for any game to match.
Needless to say, I was a bit disappointed in this one. It was the first PS3 title I've had the opportunity to play, and my best description of it is that it's simply another very good first person shooter. The approach is very interesting, and the alternate WW2 universe they've created is definitely unique, but in many ways doesn't feel different enough from a lot of what we've seen before. The weapons are probably the best part of the game - Probably the most suprising arsenal I've seen in a FPS in a long time, unfortunately the gameplay is pretty much your standard FPS fair.
Resistance is an exceptional launch title in that it looks good (really good, but no better than anything I've seen on 360 thus far), and plays smoothly, but in a land with an insane amount of rock solid FPS, it doesn't necessarily shine as something all that innovative in the genre.
IMO, the reviews giving this a 9 are probably a bit much - But I wouldn't rate it at anything less than a 7.5 and I'd like to think that's a pretty damn high score from me, there are few 9+ games out there IMO.
If you've got a PS3, this is looking to be the title for you this Christmas - And if nothing else, it's a good display of the initial capabilities of the system - And they can only get prettier/more innovative from here.

Resistance was the only PS3 Launch Title i was interested in. Havent had a chance to play it but all i hear is from people its a average FPS with really good graphics. I thought this was going a killer App. for Ps3.
Doesnt seem like it.
If anything was going to make me go and pick up a ps3 on Launch date it was going to be "Resistance".
Looks like im not missing out on much.

I hear the online multiplayer is insane.
That alone is probably why the game is scoring so many 9's.
But I havent played it so my opinion doesnt matter. |

| I struggle with reviewers giving games like this high scores based on almost exclusively on it's multiplayer abilities. I'm all for multiplayer gaming, but a lot of times I want a good game I can sit and work through on my own over a pretty decent amount of time. Sadly, there just aren't that many of those anymore. |

| yeah, the multiplayer kicks ass. It's just really fast paced, and the weapons work pretty well with it,not to mention I've had no problems with lag issues at all. |

For some odd reason, my friends are comparing "Resistance" with Gears of War.
How dumb is that, i keep telling them GOW is a third person shooter and shouldnt be compared to a First Person Shooter. But all i hear is about how much Resistence pwnz Gears of War, even though they never playing all the way thru GOW and they dont own a copy of Resistance. :haha: |

Bwhahaa. Alot of my friends never actually showed the 360 any love. But ever since Gears of War came out, i had 3 friends go and buy a copy and a 360 to go along with it. :haha: :haha:
But my nig, im always around. But on TA i only seem to catch you in the "Gaming Forums". Never see you any where else. :tongue2
