All I can think when I listen to this is "Burridge." And that's not in the sense of "OMG Clovis is trying to be Burridge!" It's a good thing... ;)
It just kind of reminds me of how he builds a set, it's always the kind of chugging tech house/minimal/prog stuff that just has this warm pulsing sound that permeates the entire set. And even though that warm kind of chuggy pulsey feeling provides the underlying feel of the set, each section is distinct and unique from the previous one that it really feels like one cohesive story.
I really like this one Clovis - Maybe as much as Red Line. It's definitely gotten 4 or 5 plays this week while I've been splitting time between writing papers and whoring TA... :)
Keep up the good work m8 - Can't wait to actually play a set with you sometime! |

Oh dont say you liked this as much as redline... :p
Either it means I suck at preparing mixes, or I'm good at winging it too. Or mushrooms made it good. Whatever it is, I dont like this as much. I especially hate from the Will Saul track through bomberos as I felt the direction really was kinda lost.
I'm working on a slower mix in light of our stalled project btw. About that, I was thinking we should just do 80 minutes of peaktime RJT and Clovis b2b. Would give me a good change to use all the new late night stuff I've been getting :)
Thanks everyone else for listening! |

I have had a few listens to this mate, and I gotta say its the best work I have heard from you (I don't think I downloaded redline), and alot of your past work didn't really appeal to me (not a huge progressive fan).. but this set is great IMO.. I don't know a single tune that was played, which was nice, I just went with the flow.
Still can't believe you were stoned on zoomers.. :wtf: :wtf:
Props! |

I've enjoyed the mixes. Been a while since I caught anything, but I did this one for grins tonight.
I have to say this set is ing sick. It totally fills the void of minimalistic drop bass dance that I've been missing.
I really enjoyed it, even if it was just a whimsical set for fun. This set was dope. |

I've had this set for awhile but hadn't gotten around to commenting yet. Over the course of the last year or so your technical skills have really taken off. For you to be able to put together a set of this caliber while... well, impeded... is pretty staggering. Technically there are points of this thread that are simply masterful. Each track continues the flow of the set perfectly, and at times, it's unclear where one track begins and the other ends.
That said, I think your musical taste has shifted considerably. Whereas at one point I ate up everything you posted with a spoon, now I find this rather hard for me to listen to. I think our tastes have probably diverged in opposite directions or something. This is the kind of set that would make me go crazy in a club, but for home listening it isn't quite my cup of tea.
But overall, this is one of the most impressive technical sets I've heard on this board. Keep up the good work! |

| really enjoyed this. made it to my permanent folder. chill and yet very exciting if that means anything. can't really dissect it as it's quite different a style than i'm used to, but again liked it very much. |

Holy smokes, Clovis. This mix rocks.
Rotor -> Sussholz (Robert Babicz Remix) -> Schizophrenic is my favorite part. I felt it lost some momentum at It's So (a very fine track in its own right, of course), but that's just preference.
Also, thanks for introducing me to Jussi Pekka! |
