Macbook Vs. Macbook Pro

Is there any difference besides obvious aesthetic details, size, and graphics card?

If i spec'd a Macbook to the same speed/ram what are the advantages of the pro besides the graphics card?

Will I find a well spec'd Macbook less useful than the pro? Why?

I like the idea of the 15 inch screen (or the 17 :eyes: ) but is that one of the only things the huuuge increse in price is getting me?

The MacBook Pro's have bigger screens and, stock, run faster. The fastest MacBook isn't as powerful as the lowest MacBook Pro.

17 inch would be very uncomfortable for me.

you get used to it after a while.

I like my 2Ghz macbook with 2GB ram, because it's small and easy to use @ school :)

Only thing I hate about it is, that I have to take it to the service for like the second time already. Keyboard plate is discolored and mousebutton is semibroken :D.
First time the motherboard broke :whip:

i'm always carrying my 15 inch pro though, i guess if you don't take your laptop everywhere a 17 would work...but 17 is more for graphic design and maybe gaming. As for the regular macbook, it's not like you will feel a huge difference in performance between it and the pro if they are similar stats.

I like the real estate, It's very useful for audio/video applications that require a bigger screen, but still portable.

Obviously but:

Macbook
* 2.0GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
* 200GB Serial ATA drive @ 4200 rpm
* Superdrive 6x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

$1,874.00

Macbook Pro (15in 2.16)

* 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
* 200GB Serial ATA Drive @ 4200 rpm
* SuperDrive 6x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

$2,374.00

Macbook Pro (15in 2.33)

* 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
* 200GB Serial ATA Drive @ 4200 rpm
* SuperDrive 6x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

$2,699.00

Macbook Pro (17in 2.33)

* 2.33GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
* 2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
* 200GB Serial ATA Drive @ 4200 rpm
* SuperDrive 8x (DVD+R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)

$2,899.00

500+ dollar difference for 2 inches, up to 1/3 ghz+ and a nicer graphics card.

Is it worth it? i don't know, someone tell me.

haha , yeah for a second i got your joke but decided to disregard it because i can't comment !

yeah 15.4 can be quite a hassle too...wouldve been cool if they made macbook pro the same same size as the powerbook 12'' as well.

hey if you can afford those $500, why not. i wouldn't go broke just because i want 2 inches more and a better graphic card though. and 1/3 ghz is nothing. kinda like the 1.86 vs 2.0...theres very little difference..they just charge you more for insignificance.

The 2 inches will make a big difference, especially if you're going to be using the laptop a lot. It boils down to what you're going to use it for. If you're just going to use it as a laptop, for e-mail, homework, internet, playing music...get the regular. If you're going to be doing music production, graphics/movie editing, get the pro. I got the pro and my friend has the regular one, I'm much happier with the pro.
