Do I like some of the tracks? yes.
Will I like the way tiesto plays them? probably not. he's a trance DJ. It will be a long learning curve before he's playing minimal like a proper minimal DJ.

I did that with trance and it took me 2 yrs to get to that point. It is still pretty new and fresh for Jamie, so he is still safe :p

Jem ... nothing against you or Techno ... but dude a friendly reminder ... dont over do it. cuz if you do ... it will become boring and tasteless just as quick as it got interesting and fun for you.

and thats from personal experience and seeing many others who went through same phase ... some with techno some with trance and some with house.

/hijack :)

If only I wasnt so passionate and could control it... alas, Ill hafta deal w/ that if/when it happens (like it did with trance after 3 years time... which then lead me to develope my love for techno).

Really! :( I wish Id gone now then. Sounds like Tiesto at Dragonfly was so much more fun than Armin at Dragonfly. Not that I could have gone... I remember i had to stay in that weekend for some reason or another (wait, nm, it was a weekday wasnt it? ya, i couldnt get the thurs off work! That was it), bc I wanted to hotel it up with everyone real bad I recall! ANd Jenn and Terry were up and going to it! :sadgreen:

Interesting.

Is this the sign that Tiesto is taking back his own music, meaning he's playing what he wants to play because he loves the music but not what is forced on him by promotion and fans' expectations?

Saw signs of that after he lost the #1 spot on DJ mag to PvD, experimenting different types of trance.

Maybe I'm taking a Wild Assed Guess, but if this continues, well, good for Tiesto.

I'm still not going to pay 60 bucks just to see him though :D

Why should he be an one dimensional DJ, playing same type of fluffy trance for years?

Be an innovator. Experiment. Expand.

THere is nothing wrong with experimentation.. as long as he plays a decent amount of Trance, I'm fine w/ some other stuff. 60/40 or something like that would be a good mix.
I have no problem at all w/ some house tracks, it'll make for a good set. I just want some Hard Trance!

when new kids on the block started to flop they changed their style and became more serious...

it sure worked for them! LOL
